Pulling Trucks out of boxes

Here's my blackfoot I pulled out today as I'm getting back into RCs. The body was a horrific chipped up red. So I cleaned and sanded it as best I could and put an initial coat of black on it. It's pretty much stock except for the oil shocks that came off of a CEN Fun Factor truck and the Monster Beetle tires and rims.

Nice. I want to restore my Blackfoots. What did you use to clean the body. There are a few was (Oven Cleaner, Brake Fluid, etc.) Just want to know which way is best. Thank You

Nice, I love old Blackfoots myself. Raced one offroad back in the day, just before we started converting RC10 gold pans into MT's. I actually did real well with it back then, even raced a ROAR event with it. :cool

Thanks

Thanks for the replies. I stay pretty busy and don't always get back to my trucks, but have been working on them more in the last year.

RcRookie: As far as painting goes. I didn't really do more than wipe the body down with a damp cloth, sand the rough spots and paint it. The body is in fairly rough shape. I've been keeping my eye out for a good deal on a new one.

HDMM: I used to race one as well. I wish I still had that truck. There was a great indoor track just down the street from my college back in 1991. I had fiberglass shock towers, oil shocks, low profile racing tires, and thorp gear in the tranny. It did pretty well until the Losi's and RC10's started hitting the track. Those were awesome days.
