hey guys. so the snow is here and i think its time to change the cr-01 around a bit. ill be modding it over the next couple of weeks/months to make it look like a F-toy. not a 100% duplication as i plan on keeping the coils and 4 links but that is the general look iam going after.like this one :

i plan on buying the pro line spider body and using that. from the measurements i got it should be a good fit, close but it should work. i started on getting rid of the cantilevers as they don't look scale and they are to sloppy. iam using stock plastic max shocks to take the place of the stock canti/shock set up.

the goal is to get a good looking rig that is also functional.

how much articulation and droop do ypou lose?

I like the idea, it'll look really cool. Just wondering how much it'll effect performance because stock it performs much better than it looks like it can.

i dont have the suspension done but from what i can tell from what ive got done is i gained more in both articulation and droop.

ill post a flex shot up when i get the shocks done.

well i have some updates. i finished the shocks and im please with how it "bench"tests. there are some more mods to be done and they will all be listed here. now onto the pics...

this 1st pic is at ride height (no battery or esc in chassis)

2nd pic is of the droop i have compared to stock ride height...

3rd and 4th are flex, again no pack..

tom this is the body...

i ordered it prolly almost two weeks ago and its still not here. i went back and looked at the sellers (ebay) auction and says ships with in 3-4 business days. so now its a waiting game... :bang

mean while iam going to move the tranny one position forward and play wit the link locations.

Looks good! Is the Spider a newer body? I know the new Proline scale accessories haven't shipped yet, I was thinking that body was released the same time as the accessories. I bought some scale stuff a little over a week ago from TH and it hasn't shipped yet either.

Ok thats a new one:willy I haven't even seen this one yet:bang I thought you were talking about the other cage thingie that Pro-Line has for the Scorpion (not the Scout cage). This thing looks even better then the other cage deal because theres no hump in the middle.

Now I really can't wait to see this thing done:tmb

well im still waiting on the body so i moved onto some more chassis work.the stock plate offers a variety of placement options for the tranny so i moved it up to the furthest hole forward.about 1/2" this should help with vertical climbs.

the body finally came today so i go it mounted. the stock post are a tight fit width wise but they will work.now its time ot get some paint on it.

thanks , i started doing the detail paint.there are some small things that would just be a pain in the butt to mask off so ima hand painting them.

It does fit good on the CR01 though:tmb:tmb:tmb can't wait to see the finish product.
