Project Clod: Atlas rebuild aka ReGenesis... DarkHorse

For those of you who don't know me, I was on this board from long long ago and have recently came back to the hobby. I had a build up of a clod that had the brushless system that novak came out with from when they first appeared.
Here's a link to that thread: Atlas Link fixed W.G.

Anyways, atlas has had a great run and its been sitting in storage for too long and its time to revive him. So here we go:

Phase one: The Tear Down
Taken out all electronics and even suspension now as seen in the photos:

Phase two: The upgrade

After a lot of failures and finding the right spring for this truck's weight, i've decided to ditch the cantilever system and go with a direct shock mount with these shocks:

Massive difference eh?
Another thing I'm going to be doing is cutting down the overall height of my chassis by about an inch.

So what do you guys think so far?

Cool upgrades. It's always nice to see an RCMT truck live on. Please keep us updated with progress reports.

Hehe, the funny look on your dog's face in that one photo made me laugh. :D I wonder what he (she?) is thinking.

after a long hiatus status, i've finally decided to come back to the world of R/C.

I remembered why i never finished this upgrade.. the stupid plastic knuckles. aluminum ones have been ordered.

lol, my dog's name is Rupert. Didn't realize he was in the picture till after. But he's probably relieved that i took apart the clod (he's terrified of it)

pictures coming up later this weekend!

Those black wheels fit the clodbuster ? Any adapters needed ?
yes and no.

as you can see above, my giant tracs fits, but required some stretching. You also get a thinner tire wall, its not a problem if you got foam like i do. Oh and you'll need their 12mm to 14mm flat adapter.

i'm sorry for a very very late update, but here are the updates:

dodge body.
txt 1 chassis (thanks caesar)
gmade wheels and adapter
aluminum steering knuckles,
custom front servo mount
custom upperlink mount
Gmade m4 ball ends and rods

and here's the concept:

obviously, the body will be lowered all the way down onto the chassis.
can anyone guess what forgot to purchase? apparently i can't assmeble this chassis with out it lol.
well anyways, what do you guys think so far? personally i like it.

I like the concept of it. I'm guessing your in need of some cross members just like I am with my new project :bang. Yea they are required.

Glad you like the chassis and that it got to you. Man, I don't know how you Canadians do the shipping times from the US to there. It takes forever.

crossbars are in route.
i was actually talking about screws lol.
i have none to put this guy together! waiting on an order from rc4wd:

as far as shipping goes, my home town was host to the 2010 olympic winter games, that and its one of the major places where parcels get processed for canada. so a waiting time is someihtng to get used to and annoying, but oh well.

its good to see an old face.

still have that gmade one?

on my next day off i plan on painting the ram body. here's picture of the prep work:

did i mention i hate decals?
i'll be painting in all the chrome parts instead putting on the decals and leaving the light area empty to simulate light buckets.
