Good luck tomorrow! I know how it feels trying to make sure that you have everything. My first trip to the Worlds had me taking a whole tote full of spare parts and stuff, did not use 90% of it but I did need a couple things from it for another person so it payed off taking all of it.

I think the only thing that isn't on your checklist is your charging equipment and batteries. Just make sure your not missing that one charge adapter for that one special battery or something like that. hehe That would put a stop to a truck without juice.

That is cool that you met someone from the board at the LHS. I only have two LHS's and they are very small so I do not go there very much, including that they are both 40 min. away. So shipping is cheaper than gas. But I do always stop in when I am in the area and try to support them.

I am getting off track here. RUN EM HARD MAN!! Good luck.

i'm at the point where when i walk out the door i think:

truck
batteries
charger
radio

anything else i can borrow/buy lol. believe it or not, it's easy to forget those major things if you don't think hard. i've forgotten my radio on occasion . . . . .

as far as other preparation - again i'm to the point where the heats are my practice lol

Yeah, remembering everything can be a challenge, especially when you race multiple trucks. I've been 3+ hours from home on my way to an event and got that chill up my spine like "oh no, did I pack my radio?" or something similar LOL!!!

Good luck and run hard. Don't let Bari bully ya around:laugh

no need for truck prep

well day was fun and Bari really schooled me with the clods.
first run my esc shut down(dont know why)after the first jump
second run, made first jump when into the corner PUSHED BAD, track was SLICK and slid in hard ,touch the brakes pulled throttle the pushed hard into wall.
third run again ECS shut down, still at a loss on this
when it shuts down pop the lid push power button and all works fine.
I honestly think my JUNK batt's are causing in just puzzling why it does this and all you have to do is push power button. dont have to touch batt lead or anything else.........
well off to the drawing board/ workbench to fig this out..anybody with this past issue please chime in...
and OH YEAH Bari is awsome to run against/with and he really schooled me today... to those who have not had a chance to meet him in person he is a great guy and really seems to love the sport of R/C racing..
2 thumbs up Bari had a awsome time today hanging w/ No Limit R/C

Sre you using a spektrum radio?
Are you running a ni-mh battery?

The esc can seem like it's shutting down, but actually the radio may be shutting down too.
The amp draw will kill the power to the radio for a split second, and cause trouble.
I run a novak glitch buster, which stores current and helps the radio out on launchs, and high amp load moments.

What motors and speed control you runnng?

esc only cuts out on the jump landing's, straight aways and corners all is good.
my radio is a JR xs3 FM. meter was showing just over 11V
Esc is a evx-2 (blue waterproof version 16.8V)
x2- batts are some older 7.2V 3300Mah w/ deans they are about yr old
motors are team epic 19t mods matched. by use of dyno
has P94 brushes motors had about 10 min run time prior to race.

I am looking at the batts being the issue since they are the only old pieces that are left, new esc, motors, servo radio is about yr old but had stong signal at far end of track if the esc did not shut down on the landing. i am still very new to clods, hopefully i can learn more from you guy's

if it only shuts down on jump landings then I would say that something is a bit loose and the jolt causes it to shut down. did it matter as to whcih batt you used or connector. if the cables on the batt seem tight and good and you use quality connectors I would swap out the ESC. ( this is not an uncommon thing at times with loose internal components that act up during hard jolts) doing jumps off the track can test this issue. I would jump it off something very radical or much more extreme than the track jumps just to be sure the issue is cured!

I use deans connectors on everything,in yesterdays shake down runs i jumped it much harder and much higher with no issues, only diff from yesterday is the batts and the temp, it was in the high sixtys yesterday and today was in the low fiftys..

this esc did this once before two months ago when i had diff batts , they were not holding a charge so i put them in my sons trail rig, they work fine for him.. i shorted one of my race packs so last night(2am this morning) i made 2 new packs, cells are a yr old just sitting here. i did have to force charge them to hold a charge, just looked at my notes from today.
They are Panasonic sub c 3300 Mah
pack a had 8.02V
pack b had 7.9V
just checked volts and had
Pack a 7.76
pack b 7.74
I guess tomorrow i will un-plug everything clean and check all connections again put same batts back in and run it hard. if issue is still there i will change packs out to a diff set and run it again ?

i am lost on this issue. hopefully its something i did not connect good enough and is not internal with the esc...i would like to find the issue before i go and get new lipo's and charger. thanks for any and all input
