I'm going to guess and say the pin that goes through the top shaft that engages the slipper clutch is broken. Common problem with the Slash's.

Look at this picture:

Pin #2754 actually engages the slipper. The drawing is goofy, it makes it look like it engages the top internal gear but that is actually pin #3793.

No need to tear the trans apart to check it. Simply remove the slipper nut and pull the entire slipper assembly off. Crossing my fingers for you that this is the problem. Very simple and quick fix!

Also, another tip is to put some star lock washers on the motor screws. It will help keep them tight and keep your motor from shifting.

^^^^ actully i did but when i pulled the spur of the whole rod came out so i think the pins in the rod fell out or broke i'll let ya know when the trany comes out.

Sounds like the pin on the top gear broke inside. Go to the hardware and buy a hardened drillbit with the same diameter, and cut the shaft section the same length as the stock pin. You'll never break another one again.

so i rip apart the tranny and it turns out the pin 3793 is broken. i do have drill bits but there all too big :( but they are very close to the right size do you think i should try and drill the bit in to fit or try to find smaller bits? Thanks for ur help JKRacing37

I'd probably take a trip to the local hardware/Lowes/Home Depot and try to find a bit that fits or a roll pin that fits. I personally wouldn't drill the top shaft at all, but that is just me.

that pin is very weak. its like rolled steel, not even solid. I ended up cutting an axle pin(solid) from Associated and stuck it in. Gone through quite a few races in a fully loaded slash with no issues.
