Oh, and I also agree keep it at $20. That's just enough where it'll make people think about it but not so much where it'll scare them off. Plus I'm on the verge of making this my signature

I'd be in for $20 :cool

Never had seen or heard of that truck before, looks like a stout little truck.
VMGs used an uglier body, uglier tires, and only a single shock. I just sold this one a few weeks ago:

I have the Trinity version which is exactly like that Clone. I took one set of shocks off it and it has a long discontinued ProLine GMC truck mini body:

They are pretty durable and fast. I've launched mine off our 1080 ramps without breaking it.

That is pretty interesting. I had the A-Tech version (Leo-X) which was the exact same as the Venom version. Before I bought it I read in a lot of different forums to avoid the Trinity version as it used a more brittle plastic than the Schumacher/Venom/A-Tech version. AFAIK all three were manufactured by A-Tech just badged differently. I do not know the source of the Trinity but there were other versions out there that cloned the Trinity. I wonder if it was actually the Trinity clones that had the more brittle plastic and soiled the Trinity's rep?

I never broke anything on my truck - ran some hotter motors in it and it held up fine. The only mods were bearings and a wheelie bar. Fun truck - kind of wish I wouldn't have sold it but when again it probably would be collecting dust still anyway.

i'm in...i'd *prefer* NOT to do the slash knockoff (only cause i already have a slash 4x4), but i'm in for whatever...

redcat stuff from brett would be great to review...it's get everyone the scoops on how the vehicles really are, we'd get the initial truck for a discount, and it would boost sales for him if we like it...

I'd be in for another $20. for a review rig.

I really enjoyed the TXT clone review because we (Kent really) were comparing it to the real TXT. I think that's what made the review exciting, to me at least. So unless it's some new rig out from one of the big companies. I'd say we should do a review on a clone type (Slash knockoff) rig like the SC truck mentioned earlier?

I had the SC version (3rd in your list) and can say it was a beast. The faults were.... body, cracked if you sneezed within 20 feet of it. Center link for steering needs to be replaced with aluminum copy. Diff in rear shreds itself because it's cast and truck has TONS of power. It's smaller than a AE SC8 and closer to a SC10. As a matter of fact I put a SC10 Lucas Oil body on mine and it looked almost perfect. Truck really only needs 3s, 4s is just to much for it. 2s was still pretty fast. Resale value was well non existant. I got only 100 bucks for it.

Iam in for $20-$25, I think one of those two numbers and we will have no issues getting the money. I also like the idea of doing clones. With clones chances are most of us look at them but maybe never pull the trigger on a 200-400 in fear of that they are junk. But 20-25 i would think we would all be down with that.(**** i spend that on lunch).
Take a look at this one. I have been looking at buying the 1/5 scale buggy from them.

Let's start a vote as to what we want next. Our main focus should be trying to keep the cost down and review things that the group has a mutual interest in. I say the Slash knockoff, even though it's ARR I'm sure we all have an unused or multiple model radio system.

That's actually virtually identical to the Shredder from Redcat. Not sure I'd call it a 5th scale, but they are big...

Slash clone is fine with me. As stated if you guys want a race review I'd be happy to do it. An issue though is I do not have much experience with the Slash 4x4 (I just got one over the summer and have been rebuilding it for the winter race season), no drive time just bench time. The racing is indoor carpet off road, so the truck won't get all scuffed / scratched up and filled with dirt and mud. The track is ozite carpet over concrete with 2x4's for boards and depending on the layout there are some big jumps so it is not very forgiving on trucks.

I have a receiver, ESC, and Tacon 3900 kv motor I can stuff in it for testing.

If a race style review doesn't interest anyone, that is fine - perhaps with Bill's experience with the Slash 4x4 he can give it a once over and proper thrashing. :D

I like the idea of the Slash "Clone" and John doing it...he is a racer and should be able to give a great review like Kent with the TXT.

and just like the TXT if the parts are interchangable maybe me and others would consider getting one.

Iam just throwing this out there on picking a manchine to view. Do you think we could set up a poll with 3 to 5 manchines that could be put up for review. and vote that way, say put a poll up for 3-5 days.
