ok so the last went smooth, want to try it again?

2 Things, who is in, and what should we get next "purchase"??

Joe Rattlehead :D mentioned looking into a 5th scale next round, anyone up for that or pick something else?

That said I'd be in and think it should be electric as not everyone can do nitro or gas. There is also that slash 4x4 knockoff on e-bay or other vehicles.

I'm in.

Our racing season starts in a couple weeks. If we decide to do something SCT related I'd be willing to do the review in a race environment is anyone would want to see that.

Those 1/5th scalers look sweet, I wouldn't mind seeing one of those reviewed.

I'd be in for $20 :cool

1/5th sounds good to me, but I agree keep it electric if not make it gas, no nitro please.

If we can't get enough people to get the 1/5th then SC sounds good too.

Also wouldn't mind seeing one of the Kyosho 1/10th rally cars reviewed. But that's a personal one because I've been wanting a rally car for awhile now....;)

Yep I am in. Electric would suit me fine as well.

That is cool John of you to offer to do a race environment review if we do the 4X4 SC route.

Either 1/5 scale electric or that SC is cool by me. Anything electric 1/5 scale might get pricey though. Even the Redcat 1/5 buggy is $730.

I say let John do the SC review. It would be better cost wise and heck we already got a dude to do the write up! haha

Whatever we do we need to make every effort to keep the buy in cost at or just below $20. If we can get into a 1/5 scale truck that will be pretty neat, but we should probably go for the short course truck first as that's a larger segment represented on the board. And of course a prerequisite for the receiver, they should have the model that the clone represents and have good knowledge of it, plus have the free time to devote to the job! That puts me out. :D

Hmmm the 1/5th rampage xb-e is 799.00 but the 1/6th scale stuff is 399.00 or can be found under that on e-bay.

So should we vote on the redcat 1/6th SC electric or the slash 4x4 knockoff ? Or something else ?

I am in for another for sure.

if gas comes into play here are some interesting knock-offs one's that are 1/5 scale for a decent price at hobbyking.

titan 4X4 28cc 12.4 kg $387.46

hobbyking baja 260 26cc $429.99

hobbyking 260SC $592.57

the baja looks pretty neat.

clone's or the real deals are fine with me either way though.

The only issue is the bigger price tag items of course will require more participation. Something in the $700 range, plus shipping we would need around 35-37 people. Not sure if that is feasible. Either that or raise the entry to $30 and that puts you in the 25 range, not sure if that is feasible either. Sure would be sweet though to get a killer 1/5th scale for $20!

I got a Hobby King catalog today - this caught my eye:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__20997__Turnigy_1_10_4WD_Brushless_SCT4_ARR.html

Not sure if there would be interest in that, just thought I'd throw it out there.

Yeah, I was worried about the big price tag too especially since it'll most likely have to be shipped twice(once to the reviewer and again to the winner(even though the winner pays it's something to think about)). But if everyone wants to do it it doesn't hurt to try abd see if we can get the numbers and if we can't we just do something else.

Saw that one John posted when it first was listed on HobbyKing but if you read the reviews everyone pretty much says it has problems. Some even said the Trooper was better.

I'd recommend against the 1/6th scale Redcats personally. The 5th scale XBE is great, and so are the 8th scales. These are kind of stuck in the middle. If you decide to do it though, I'll get one to whoever is reviewing it for $275 shipped.

I'd probably shoot for vehicles at $300 and under though. We pretty much all know what the name brand stuff can so, or they're being reviewed by a major magazine already.

I agree with if we are to continue doing this we need to keep the price low, it took awhile to get the money for the txt so for something that costs more it may be harder on everyone. SO maybe we should do lower price cars geared more for entry level rcs? there all about 200 bucks or below, just a idea.

Came across this thought this was cool, dont know what its based off but its from the same guy we got the txt from,
