Don't "pack" the gears with grease. A coating on the teeth is all you need unless you are going to pack the case where the spider gears are housed to slow diff action.

If I just put some on the teeth, do I have to re-grease down the road? I have no problem doing that because I want the axles to last! :)

Eventually you will. It all depends on how much the truck gets used and under what conditions it is run in.

Just remember grease decreases wear, it does not strengthen the gears. It will take quite a bit of time to wear the gears out but depending on the power plant you run and what kid of use the truck gets you are a lot more apt to break a gear than wear it out.

Yeah, that is why I want to stay mild with the motor I put in it I have an Orion 2400kv motor in my Kyosho DRX VE going into the truck. The DRX VE is getting a new motor so I figured why not use the Orion, and save some cash.

I don't beat on my stuff like most folks. It amazes me when I read about folks dumping a ton of $$$ into a vehicle, and then wrecking it. Who's got that much expendable cash, and do they want to adopt me into their family? LOL
