OT: What do you do(for a living)

Seeing all the cool rc trucks that people own, I was wondering what people do for a living? I know with the economy being in distress, I figured people could explain what they do as a job/career, or what they used to do or want to do as a job. I think this may be a way for some people who are employed, help reach out to their fellow RCMT members who are currently unemployed or are looking for new employment in there area.

Currently I work for a security company called Securitas, I'm contracted at the Baldwinsville Budweiser Brewery.

In the near future I would LOVE to be a Prison Guard at one of the local Pens.

I would like to know what people do.

I worked and delivered beer for a better part of 19 yrs then two years ago quit to stay home with my kids and raise them while the wife continues to work her nursing career. So now I do RC full time at home. Just got a bunch of Clod stuff in and I am having a blast doing it full time.

I'm an aspiring Barista at a local StarBucks haha. Honestly most of my rc stuff comes through holidays or a little bit here and there. It's amazing how much I've accumulated in a rather short period of time.

Myself and 4 others work in the Tech Support unit for pc's of about 2000 + workers for the State of Ill, I always complained about state workers when I was in the private sector for about 20 years, now I are one. :willy One thing I have learned here is "common sense is not tolerated" :laugh

The RC addiction has run strong since "89" I still have my Dumas .45 powered boat, all my RC10 stuff, and my only Losi, a JRx2, and 7 or 8 planes in various stages of built or building. :)

I work in law enforcement- Full time sworn deputy sheriff here in Florida. I am also a 2T151 im the U.S. Air Force reserve (one weekend a month, 2 weeks a year- plus four months in Iraq come October :ack ).

Doesn't leave me with a lot of free time, but I can still tinker with RC trucks for a few minutes each day, even if it's just swapping wheels and tires around.

I've been working 2 jobs the last 2 years. Recently quit one. The one i quit was in a Chinese Resteraunt just on the drinks bar and taksing orders on the phone.

My main job is working for a company in the UK called O2. Delivering broadband support for customers If customers have problems with thier broadband connections then i'm part of the team set up to resolve this.

Recently though i've not been on the phones as much. Been doing offline work which involves more of an admin role making sure the Mobile Broadband product that we offer runs smoothly in regards to technical support

I work for Chrysler at their Proving Grounds. Used to be a chassis dyno operator and test driver on the weekends (and no...test driving is NOT as cool as you think it is...LOL). for the past 8 years I have been in the Instrumentation Lab supporting the Emissions and Fuel Economy Test Lab.

I'm a mechanical engineer working on prototype trucks for a military defense contractor. I have a job for the time being, but my days are numbered. My company just had a huge layoff where about 600 people at my location were given "the letter." I didn't receive it but I know that there will be more rounds of layoffs in the not so distant future.

I'm a truck driver for a large Hardware co-op. You may have heard of them True Value. I deliver to stores in southern Indiana and Northern Kentucky twice a week. I actually have more time at home then I did when I spotted trailers in the yard an was home every night. My wife and I home school our twinn daughters and I enjoy sharing my RC hobby with my girls.

I'm a chemistry professor. JAy Jordan and I did our graduate work together (although he has a real job).

Plenty of free time for rc, but now it goes to my kids (until they get interested in RCs).

I work for a defense contractor and I am an assembler. I build weapons pylons for a certain type of fighter aircraft. It's a pretty cool job, probably the best of my working career so far.

I am an unemployed Electrical Engineer. I used to be the project manager for an RF design company making spread spectrum radios and tracking devices. Last year I was the Director of Operations for a national church youth gathering. I had to find and organize service opportunities for over 36,000 people for when they were at the Gathering, meaning 12,000 people volunteering each day. That meant the logistics, food, tools supplies, contacts, contracts, timing, busing, etc for the largest event of its kind ever. A great, unique experience.

Now I am in a job search again...
