3 years ago I was way into Nascar. Then the car of tomorrow, single engine rule, wing change, points change, etc... I watch maybe 2-3 races a year now. I never watch formula one cars unless its on a Unbelievable crash movie or something like that.
they are not throttle body. They are multi port injected. They have a throttle body( air only) type device on an Edelbrock style intake with injectors to each runner of the intake Pretty much like most cars now. The throttle body is jut to let air in. they can limit and control the injectors and the size of the opning of the throttle body. yes they can control the fuel mapping with a lap top but that is not much different than messing with carbs like they do. Actually just as easy for NASCAR to police. the Computers, Intakes, and throttle bodies are all NASCAR spec`d.
The thing now is they can now just hook up the laptop and tune it vs jetting and blueprinting and a host of other things they do to the carbs. I actually believe it will be cheaper as the carbs were VERY expensive by the time they got done messing with them.
NASCAR can also still put restrictors in the throttle bodies.
I was hoping to have it up and running again this year so my fiancee could race it. A car accident and family issues have sidelined that project for another time.
