lol I told my wife today that I am happy with where I am in life although I could use a few for RCs and bonsai. She just laughs and calls me a dork. I'm so blessed and fortunate to have her because she lets me play and have toys.

Your a lucky man Sokey! ...my girlfriend told me today " ya know you spend more time with those stupid trucks then you do doing stuff with me" and in my usual moving my lips to much when I think kinda mood said " well the trucks are fun and don't make do stupid $%*t and they also don't nag"...and I instantly regreted saying that lol so now me and my dog write to you from the couch

Yea she thinks there fun,but I refuse to let her drive them anymore lol. Almost every time she drives I'm making repairs by nights end..and then she complains that I spend to much money fixing them lol

The lord has blessed me with an awesome GF. After 5 years not once has she complained about my rc obsession. In fact she encourages it and I think she wants to go to clodapalooza more than I want to lol. She even likes to get kits and build them together. So far weve built a tlt and a axial wraith.
My wife is encouraging... I know at times she thinks to herself, "really, do you need 25 trucks?" But she is wonderful supportive and doesn't complain. The kids being somewhat interested helps a little- but I spend waaaay too much money on them. I need to thin out the herd at some point and come back to reality.
Something that helps us.I encourage her to do a hobby and spend time with a group of ladies once a week. She does Mary Kay and enjoys that whole community- so that has helped.

It's definitely give and take to make it work. My wife loves crafts and making quilts, she spends $150 on fabric, I spend $150 on RCs lol.

I can remember one time i had a Star Wars Tie Fighter (Darth Vader version). I took all the screws out of it and cut all the wires to see how it worked. Lucky if i was 5 years old at the time. She told me i better get it together and working by the time my dad got home from work. I dont know if she was really upset or impressed that i had it all back together by the time dad got home.....

It is the same here as well...I can go for a while without touching them, then I use a truck, and am hooked...fixing, upgrading, taking apart cleaning, etc...
Its a great hobby, and its better then being in a bar every night! I got my man cave in the basement, and its seeing a ever growing collection of RC's

I collect model planes and the Hot Wheels Grave Diggers..I have been accused of being obsessed with the hobbies too, but hey, I just tell them it's better than drugs or wasting your life away on alcohol and crap, that shuts 'em up. haha. I have been trying to cool it down though as my money is limited since I don't have a job at the moment.
My wife already 'complains' about me being obsessed, and I just bought my first 2 RCs (used) and don't even have all the electrics to get them running yet - and it seems like it's all downhill (or up, depending on perspective i suppose) from here 
But - she knows me well, and I have a history of getting a bit obsessed/addicted to my hobbies. I can't help myself, if I'm going to do something, I like to take in as much knowledge as possible and do it right! And she's a good sport, she realizes there's worse stuff I could do with my time and money, and that if push comes to shove, the money will always support her & our daughter before it supports my hobbies, if that choice had to be made.

Haha yea I know that..I currently have 250 monster jam trucks on display and she's not thrilled but she knows there not goin anywhere lol

Thats awesome...My GF likes them too. She wants to come to Clodapalooza as well. She wants a Scarlet Bandit GP to race there lol.

It's a hobby for all ages to enjoy!! girls or boys. It's allot better than throwing money away on a case of beer every weekend. Or going out just to get yourself in trouble with the law. That's what I always say to others.
