Novak Superduty XR with one 3S lipo wiring?

I just picked up a brand new never used Novak superduty XR esc. It has wiring for dual batteries (two 7.4v) but I want to run one 3S lipo. Should I do what the instructions say and short the one circuit to run one battery, or make a y-harness to run the dual inputs to one battery?

The manual says that the BEC might have limited output if run in single battery mode.

Help?

You need to short 1 set of battery leads to run 1 pack. (refer to intructions for which 1) The 2 bat leads are wired in series inside the ESC and would short out your battery if you wired both to 1 pack.
The possible reduced BEC output would be if running only 1 2S LiPo or 6cell NiCd pack.
Also remember that the Novac SD ESC does not have built in low voltage cuttoff so an external cutoff would be needed or make sure you do not overrun a LiPo pack and damage it.

Thanks for the info. I already picked up a Novak 3S cutoff.
