Almost done with my clod rebuild! Can't wait to finish and see it run under it's own power after years of sitting collecting dust.

Also picked up some Big Joe tires and wheels for it. Now to figure out how I'm going to mount them :conf

huge difference!

all cleaned up! hasn't looked this clean since it was new

brand new upper servo saver up front

bye bye plastic "bearings"

this is how it sits now. i will solder on the lrp 7.1 esc that I have sitting around and paint my 56 ford body this weekend. still trying to decide on color but most likely red. wheels will also be painted, maybe silver.

brand new Big Joe's. I found an adaptor to make these wheels fit just waiting to sell some stuff first.

Thanks guys!

It was pretty easy to clean; rinse, use brush for tight areas, and wipe dry. Most of it was dust bunnies from storage and dust from use. Only grime was on the rear axle, maybe I was leaking? I don't remember really bashing it. It was my first rc so I tried to go easy. I still remember letting my cousin drive it and he went straight under a parked car, well only the hood made it under. That crash broke the "air scoop" and I think another cousin rolled it and broke off the roll bar lamps. I can't remember how the body cracked.

Keeping the stock wheels.

Got all my electronics hooked up yesterday. Ran it in the front yard. Its slow but fun. I even let my 3 year old daughter try it out. She has to start sometime.

lol. I sold my airtronics m8 radio and reciever that is on the clod. gonna extend the wires for battery and run them under the tray and zip tie the other wires so they arent all over the place.

anyone want to trade their novak super rooster for my lrp 7.1 esc? i really want reverse!

Esc's

See if you can land a Novak Super Duty XR. I wrecked my Super Rooster (totally my fault) and replaced it with a Super Duty and i swear it feels like i put a big mah 70c lipo in it compared to when i ran the Super Rooster on the same old 5000 20c 2 cell Zippy Lipo. Plus Its rated for as low as twin 10 turn 550's and 16.8 volts.

i found the novak super duty but man that thing isnt cheap. i am going to stick with my lrp until i find a super duty or super rooster for a cheaper price.

question, what is this green thing and what happens if i remove it? i bought a tc4 yesterday and found the exact same motor that i already have so now i have 2. since i have a pair i want to throw them on the clod

Pretty sure they are capacaters to help prevent interfearence. Most of my motors had them but a lot of them were barely soldered on or an end would be busted or whatever and they still seem to work fine on stock motors(i wasnt very good at soldering then). Powerfull mods probly make a difference. They are super cheap at the rc store. Those Super Duty's dont seam to be real common anywhere except for our trucks, pullers and dragsters. Like you i cant access the classified section on hear yet but im sure there is guys with them. I picked one up a really clean one from a local guy for 50 bucks after i put a wanted post on another forum in my local section. I was seeing used Super Roosters for about the same price.

Should I put capacitors on both sides of each motor or just one side? Should I stick with the same green colored ones or different?

used to put 3 caps

1 lead of 1 cap to positive then 1 to negative

2nd cap
1 lead from can then to negative

3rd cap
