So, took my MF out yesterday to Bell Smith Springs in southern IL. It doesn't like my Castle Mamba Max/2200 and 4s apparently. First I noticed something wasn't pulling, figured it was the hex spinning in the wheel, sure enough, rounded. Then the other hex jammed itself between the flat spots in the wheel and spread it out. I kept driving it anyways until the rear end started stripping. So I drove it in front wheel drive until I got back home. Anyone know what diff gears to use to upgrade these? I found a how to on RCCrawler about swapping to HPI Savage 21 gears but the part number for the Kyosho item I need was no longer valid and the pics no longer work since it's an old thread. I have some stock replacements on the way and a set of the HPI stuff in case I can make it work.

Beveled gears over straight tooth and also add the 2 missing gears in the diff assembly.

    Junk the stock wheels.

Sorry, I have a Monster, not a Max. My gears are beveled, not sure what you mean. Also, how do you add two gears to it? This is what my previous post was asking to begin with.

I will post you the info on them soon as I find the manual.

You will need 4 of them and two of the shafts they use.

Why kyosho only used two over 4 on the trucks was silly.

    Need 2...97001 bevel shaft 4x27mm

Need 4...iF102 differential bevel gears, they have it listed as set.

    Need 4....96775 4x10x0.15mm shims.

If I can recall my diffs were smoother with no shims all around using 4 bevels.

I would build one diff with all 4 and the other none and feel which is better to go with or without shims.

Also tune your brakes way down and the take off punch.

Make it tamer on take off and setup to pick up about half throttle.

It will go faster then you want it to Lol.

I still vote for some 17-19mm hexes brawlers or jconcepts over 12mm!

Thanks for the parts list, the shaft was the one I couldn't find from before. As for the punch and all that, I can control my truck just fine ;)
