So I am about ready to get this rolling and building on it with pics.

this one may not be ready to run until the middle of the summer but the one I am looking forward to the most of all my builds to date.

I am not totally set on what all is going into it but this is what I have so far.

KK-1 chassis in custom 100mm width and wanting to get the tvp's powercoated either a marlboro red or canary yellow and leave the crossmembers polished.

axles are mad force based and cut down so the diff is centered.

full freestylerc axle mount kits

full freestylerc sway bar kits

ofna short cva's both sides front & rear

added shaft and 2 gears into both diffs front and rear

supershafty mad force trans customed with centered bottom chain sprocket assembly made from cnc blocks and the upper deck modded into a single motor and battery side by side to make it balanced all around.

gmade zero shock set of 4

gmade piggy xd shock set of 4

new ofna monster pirate tires on white ofna monster wheels with foams hard terrian

nitro usa-1 tires and chrome wheels with panther 3.2 paddle foams medium terrian

new chrome jumbo diamond maxx wheels with new B&H tires with foams loose terrian

GT3C radio & reciever with custom firmware

T-800 endoskeleton mechanics crew with special appearance guest.

------------------------------------------------
The rest planned for it when the budget allows it:
------------------------------------------------

8mm upper and lower polished links with dubro hd ends.

8mm Mip yoked shafts soon as super shafty gets them in.

stolen blueprints of txt-2.0's suspension straps.

hardend steel savage shafts and bevels for the diffs inners yup!! lol

if I can figure out a cantilever system I will go that route and use the zero's in place of the link/rods.

not sure of the make and model power plant but thinking at least a 120A 4s 65c setup but not sure of the motor yet.

I also think I am going to shoot for one of them 1/4 scale cys 440-OZ beast off ebay for $38 shipped and do a CMS setup and just mount it in like it was crossmembers and shorten them as standoffs for it.

not sure what body I am going with just yet until I get it together more but do like the usa-1 body but it is just to much to get one complete part for part anymore.

should be a fun build and tear some grass up when all is said and done, I pretty much sold off most my rc stuff to make this one happen and still am :rolleyes

Wow man, that's a pretty impressive list of parts so far. 4S power too!:emot124: Sounds like "it'll either go or blow". lol

it is going to be a power house for sure.

the SS trans has the same slipper they run on 6s on the axial trans and the shafts are 2mm thicker then what it has going on inside of the axial trans so 4s should be a breeze for my setup being it is even beefier shaft wise and pretty sure the chain and sprocket teeth would take more then the regular teeth on a regualr gear too.

I was going to go with the axial trans but it would have been $80 more and I dont see it being any stronger if at all plus the MF setup is plane jane simple, less things to strip, break, cease, bend etc.

until i get it going hands on only time will tell but pretty sure I seen threads where the same axles were used on 6s without issue.

hand full of tires for this beast

Kk-1 will be here Monday and will do some pics but most is here already except the stuff planned for it.

CNC blocks should be here soon too.

I'm pretty much ready to start building on it but dont have enough to complete it just yet.

I am really geeked about this one too I know I am pushing it for the plant I want to feed it but that is the plan from the get, I had the king stout and mean on 3s with no issue at all but that has nothing on this setup when it comes to shaft diameters.

the mips held great in the king but there nothing when it comes to the thickness and material of these ofna cva's.

heck I should do a side by side while I have them sitting out just to show that if those can do 3s I dont see why the cva's would have any trouble on 4s.

I will probably have to set the esc throttle pitch way down at first so it is settle while it gets up to speed but after half throttle that is where all the real power will kick in past that point so it's not just doing 3 back flips soon as it is fed any throttle, kind alike a power band effect on the 2 strokes.

I thought they were kinda cool to add into pics but need a waste land themed background to make them look more life like instead of a leather planet lol.

I just figured it would be fun to throw them into the build and get some funny shots of them working on it during the process and plan on getting some scale hand tools for them too.

they are pretty much spot on scale with the clod tires wich makes them around 6 foot tall.

Great! I'm glad you got it okay. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I know right!!...I am dying to get it rolling but still in the collecting stage but think I have enough to get moving a litte on it now that I have the chassis in and some temp links until I get it all down to science and change them out.

I am getting pigs agian and have to pick them up over the weekend and been working on their new addition to their house becuase were getting a few extra's this year.

the price of meat and dairy is going to be stupid this summer and winter and may only get worse so I been working on their pen setup and what not all week.

soon as the sun goes down this project is on though and should be able to get the axles cut and built today hopefully.

I also have a mega force complete driveline I went through where I have it good as new again and not sure if I want to sell it or turn it into some wild 4 link independant suspension monster becuase the bulkhead would be easy for me to work with but I dont need another project over this one at all.

No progress on this due to the pigs stuff but got the pigs in and there stuff all set and ended up sleeping most the day off today when said and done.

I got some hours in this past week for these guy's plus it's no easy task taking on 4 in a row like turtle man all by hand when I am already beat and being a city boy gone country apperantly the amish think we're a site to see tehehe.

saved the little guy for last and he ended up being the biggest fighter of the bunch but were all safe and settled in with no battle scar's or injury :cool

glad to have them of course but also glad that is all over and done now so I can go back to tinerking lol.

so these guy's countered offered me this 40kg servo a few minutes ago for $35 shipped and decided this is the beast I am going with.

that's a whopping 550-oz!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300913164823&ssPageName=ADME:X:BOCOR:US:1123#ht_2583wt_1026

I am going to put it up in the chassis and mend the wraith axle mount parts to the mad force axles for a CMS setup.

I am sure I am going to need a much longer steering arm so the parts from the wraith stuff will be limited but this way the axle is not cluttered plus this thing should throw the tires around like there nothing on any type slope.

as far mounting the servo I will probably just use 2-4 cnc blocks to mount behind the servo tabs and since my chassis is 100mm and the servo is 59.5mm I will just use a 20mm stand off for each side.

probably use an exsisting crossmember hole and then drill out 1 extra hole for the other servo screw mount.

I plan on gettting some stuff done easter sunday though so I will post some progress pics soon.

I still need to cut down the axle tubes even but just had no time with the piggies stuff all going on but there all set now.

got a little done today and got the knuckles shaved and polished wich actually took me a bit longer then I thought it would by dremel and hand polishing with mothers.

got the main lower sprocket assembly done shimmed and ready to mount.

check the pic out and then I have some questions and idea's and would like imput.

so I am now certain I am going to be that picky with this build that I need a drill press already, I am great at free hand with the portable hand drill but I want precision through out so I am going to be forced to grab one now O no!! lol.

I been wanting one for awhile and was thinking one of them harbor freight ones with the light on them off ebay for $65 shipped.

seems like a decent rig for the money but not sure.

next I am wanting to get a 6-32 tap and also a 3mm/m3 tap and wondering if the 3mm tap is same as the m3 tap thread wise or does the m3 have the finer course thread?

next up I need a 100mm X 1.8" plate for the bottom and can get quality carbon 6.3mm/.250" custom cut piece for less then $20 shipped but not sure if that is going to be thick enough and strong enough to have the above bolt in the center of it and take the pain of 4S+.

it's not the assembly in question just the base.

I would like to just get one solid aluminum brick with the out drive end's rounded off to line up and fill the whole bottom of the chassis area in where it threads through the sides of the chassis and just one big solid brick/skid.

I would preffer that over the carbon but no luck finding what I need just yet but I am determined.

then I just add another 4 holes in the center so the above can bolt on to it but I also need it a little thick not just for the pain I want to feed through it but also so I can shave out a recess for the sprocket/chain to clear into the plate but not protrude through it all the way so it is guarded.

I also am going to need to make support crossbars for the top of the lower sprocket assembly and not sure what I am doing there just yet but think I have that good to go too.

I should have my upper shaft bearing blocks thursday and that should only take me a few minites to whip that up and post it.

next in the pic has anyone just tapped the 2 plugged holes on the back side of the knuckles, shaved the arms off the knuckles, flip them the other way around and just run a straight bar from the inside of the axles for a clean looking rear lock out?

or perhaps leave the knuckle arms on and run dual straight bars where there is one in the front and one on the rear of the axle?

slowly but surely more to come!!

I went with the beast from the east :p

I liked cpe's cys 15kg 220-oz becuase they were cheap and did their job and have not had one break but this time around I decided to go with a monster cys type servo that is a 40kg 550-OZ'er.

for $10.00 more I could not resist it.

I will be making a custom chassis mounted servo setup for it with a panhard kit of some type.

I may even do that custom too but I been stewing on this servo for awhile but know it was too much in just size alone for my kings but I got a home for this beast in this chassis :cool

Model No.:CYS-S8218

Weight:164g

Size:59.5*29*55.2mm

Speed : 0.2sec/60?at (6V)

0.18sec/60?at(7.2V)

Torque: 38kg.cm.at (6V)

40kg.cm.at (7.2V)

I decided I am just going to go with this and then mount in on another cnc block like a 1/8" to a 1/4" thick where it bolts straight down into the block and then tap X4 6-32 threads into the side and then drill the holes in the chassis to mount it.

for $13 bucks I could not pass on it either and should have this in there and looking fancy then most these size servo's even cost on their own.

figure around $60 into with the block added and its golden and well worth it :p

or for different pics

I dont think 4s will sweat the extra lb or alumunim throughout plus it just makes it all that much more hard core with solid hunks of aluminum brick but I need my own drill press baddd....

Harbor Freight you can get a benchtop drill press for under $85.00 delivered to your door. And if you have a HF locally it's usually under $70.00

that's the one I think I will end up going with.

there was an ebay seller that had them for $65 shipped.

the only thing that held me back was the price and not becuase it was too much but becuase it seemed too cheap and was not sure if it was going to work well.

any exp. with one of them?

I will grab one I just dont want a junker if I am going to buy one but I dont need top of line either as I dont run a shop and it's purpose would be for custom hobby work pretty much.

there is like 4, or 5 RCMT members with them.
I've had mine for almost 4 years now and still going strong never a single headache or even the slightest issue.

Cool!! that is the one and what I needed to hear.

I am on it then and will grab one soon as I can.

this build is forcing me too in a way but I needed to get one ages ago anyhow.

the ol hands can only be accurate to a certain point :p
