BCCrawler, what surface is your Pro-Stock for, dirt or carpet?
I only use my narrowed tires on dirt. Right now it has a set of usa-1's for carpet. I know the rules say no cut tires for carpet but if they are manufactured that way then they should be allowed to be run. Just my opinion.

In my understanding of the rules, it does not matter if the tire was cut by the builder, or the owner. Now, if it's molded to model a cut tire, there's nothing wrong with that, but if they're cut before they're sold, they'd still not, IMHO, be legal, and, if a tractor running factory cut tires went through tech with me at the table, I, personally, would DQ them, as the rules clearly state no cut tires on carpet.

i dont see why, since its not a cut tire. it came out of the mold just like a USA-1 or clod tire has, just a different tread.

there would be no advantage gained by modding since everyone could buy the same tire and run it. now if people were modding them in a way that everyone else couldnt exactly replicate i could see that being an issue as it is. but these are a production tire that anyone could buy just like anyone can buy stock clod or USA-1 tires.

all i know is they will look sick on my ripper!

Looks good. As far as what to do with questionable rules, it's better to err on the side of caution. One person may let it go, but the next will DQ it. I will DQ almost anything.

So would my narrowed tires be illegal? I had asked mealy about a year ago and he said they would be fine. Thanks for the compliment that was the first balsa body I did. I think RC4wd should make the cad design in a clod and narrow clod, 2 different compounds for racers and pullers, and then also do hard compound for tlt wheels.

Thank you for clearing that up. I was just assuming the rule was like the traction compound rule (as long as it was like that the day it was manufactured). I really have no experience with the nrctpa so I am still learning the do's and dont's. I have never posted a link but I will give it a shot. This is a link to a pic of my tractor with the narrow tires.http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=277889304&albumID=386253&imageID=5890077
How can those of us that don't have a MySpace page see this picture?

Thanks

Now what size's are you looking to make the tires? I pull. And the tire size's I run are clod, 2.2 and tlt tires. I also run the old proline 1.9 bar tires or the old trol tires.

:shk WOW!! All I want to know is when will they be available! I'll pre-order at least two sets if not four. Those look sick! I have 4 trucks and all will need a set!

If I may suggest the production of the above tire and the puller type tire that you started off this thread with. I think you would sell out of the first two runs before they were ready for shipping! Way to go, thank you for moving the hobby forward and always thinking outside the box!

But please keep them in the stock Clod/TXT size though!

Oh my god Rc4wd that is the sickest clod tire design I have ever seen. Any chance some inspiration came from Daniel Ball's Bounty Hunter truck tires shown below?

much better design I think it would even work good for crawling and genral bashing depending on which way a person mounts them

Not a big fan of the second design. I am still a fan of the first ones.

Will the edge of the tread be rounded or sharper on the finished tire?

dont like the second desin as much as the first....the first one look like the 1:1 pulling tire as is a true V tread and not a split one......im thinking the first design will be a better seller
