I was able to get a little more done last night while the wife was running some errands. ;)

On the transmission, I use the Tamiya ceramic grease, which I think is great stuff for plastic gears. Now, on to the axles, with all metal gears, I use Lucas Red N Tacky grease. Myself and some others have been using this for quite some time on racing 1/8 scale buggies and truggies and it really works well. It is a little sticky, but once everything breaks in and settles in place, it provides superior lubrication on the metal gears. I use this is my crawlers as well.

Decided to strip the black anodize off the suspension links too, then I sanded them with 600 grit like my side plates. I like the look bare aluminum with black parts. p

I also made some steering links from a set of CR-01 Links I had, just shortend them a bit to get them the right length with the ends installed.

Ditched the awful upper bumpers too, cut and made smooth.

Was bored, added a little detail to the axles, I just love the scale look these axles. I would like to do behind the axle steering at some point, it's a shame to cover these up with ugly bumpers and skid plates.

Painting up some white clod wheels with Tamiya PS-12 silver polycarbonate paint so they will have a satin effect. Going to mount the Rumbles on these wheels and add planetaries at some point.

I'm not sure if I'm going to shave them yet, kind gonna see how it all comes together.

I also ordered a Xtreme Racing BTA servo mount, lockout and a Hitec 5645mg servo today.

Still waiting on my aluminum Clod wheel adaptors and ESC to come in on the 'Ol slow boat.

Tell me about it! Tracking showed that they were processed through N.Y. on the 12th, then nothing since. Seems like it takes for ever for me to get stuff down here in FL sometimes. My ESC shows it went through San Francisco yesterday.

Are the tyres Rumbles or B&H? In the pic they look like B&H.

Living in Australia orders typically take 2-4 weeks to turn up so the wait is very painful!

They are Rumbles, the packages seem kind of old. I bought them from a company called TGN online, it was the only place that had 2 sets in stock, I got free shipping too.

I took them out of the pack yesterday, I was surprised to find out that they were a little smaller in diameter than stock Clod tires I (I had no idea), they are the same width as Clod tires but the same diameter as the TXT-2 tires. I was intially going to gear down the TXT-2 to 15 t pinions, but maybe I'll try it with the stock size of 19t.

Ah ok, the tread looked huge in the pics, more like B&H. Yes the Rumbles are as you have said, same width, less height. Have you fitted them to the wheels yet. Mine are really loose on the TXT wheels.

I'm going to put them on Clod wheels, I painted them yesterday and I haven't had a chance to try to fit them yet. I hope they fit tight, loose is not good.

I put rubber bands around the bead on the wheels but they are still loose. I can't say that I have read anywhere about the issue that I have with mine though.

weird
sounds like maybe they were stretched on a different set of wheels, say ofna or imex with a 3'' bead rather than the clod 2.6''

I got a one in each set when they came out I sent it back and they sent me out a new pack of 2 the same day I wrote them about it.

almost was treated like a known issue and pretty much no questions asked replacement for me.

I took pics and explained and showed all 4 and how the two was out of wack side by side with the other 2 good one's and it could be seen easily they were more like a 3.2 diameter.

I wonder about your size too becuase I recall mine being the largest clod tire I have had over stock, pullers, usa-1, and rumbles.

did they change the height in the over the years any?

I was thinking of getting another set myself but if they are smaller now I will pass :p

Mine are definitely smaller than my stock Clod tires, they about the same height as my TXT-2 tires. I've never owned Rumbles before so I was a little disappointed that they were a littler smaller than stock Clod tires.
