Hey guys i need some advice and a few tricks maybe for my new puller. im not new to rc by any means but pulling is new to me. im using a stock highlift with a 17t orion motor(econo mod). Ive locked both axles and the rear suspension also have a ladder bar to keep from twisting the springs and ive dropped to a 13tooth pinion. My first question is what escs do you guys run? I just smoked a duratrax tazer and i would like to swap in a novak explorer but im not so sure. I have a rooster(oldskool and not a super) but id like to use it in other things also since i gather im in the shaft drive class can i use my stock trans? its locked into gear with no way to shift it while moving. oh and this will be a dirt puller once the weather dries up. im not going to compete much just want to have a good durable platform to mess with and be legal if i do ever compete. thanks a lot guys!

we run the team orion sv2 10x1 and team trinty cobolt 10x1 and no this does not have colbolt magnets in the motor and once again old school p-94 10x1 these are all great motots and gear ratio that is all on you and how much and how far you want to go key word get the tires a turning as fast as you can but also have some bottom end at the same time also. hope this helps:tmb

. . . . I just smoked a duratrax tazer and i would like to swap in a novak explorer but im not so sure. . . .
Are you sure it was not a Dynamite Tazer . . . as Duratrax does not make a Tazer that I am aware of.

Dynamite makes a 12T Tazer ESC & 15T Tazer ESC either one should have handled the 17T motor.

The Novak Explorer II will handle 15+ turn motors, so your 17T will work.

All of the above will work granted that you don't have a lot of binding that causes high amp draw.

Thanks
