New vintage Tamiya fan from Finland

Hi everyone,

I'm writing from Finland after having spent hours googleing info on these awsome 3-speed rides. I've been into RCs all my life, but now, after I started to drive off-road with a 1:1 Volvo c303, I would like to go from nitro RC bashing to something more civilized like slow speed off-roading with realistic models. I think Tamiya 3-speeds would enable me to do just that.

The problem is that I don't know where to start. I have spotted one blazing blazer "locally" here in Finland, but the price tag says $550. The car is missing the roof, one wheel hub cover and one small corner of the body. There might be some slack in the price, but now I'm hesitant whether the Blazer is the point I want to start from. Some say Bruiser has better suspension, some that blazer has better frame. Now I'm lost in knowing how these affect driving in real terrain. My goal is to find a car, that would offer as realistic driving characteristics as possible.

So basically I'd like to hear your recommendations on the matter, and don't hesitate to offer me your extra stock of these magnificent rides!

Best regards,
Riku Hero

If you want to go vintage, then go with a bruiser or mountaineer. You can usually find these on ebay for cheaper than you can find the blazer or hilux. If you dont mind the new stuff, get yourself a high lift. Then start having fun!:tmb
