You know, I had the same problems when I used the proxy and other RCMT adress to log in, but it's fine now that the regular site is back up.

JChung, those parts are beautiful. Let's get building:willy

Will, it works now. Like Supreme said, I logged in through the site you posted on Scale4x4 and had problems.

Now it's fine:rock

Thanks Supreme, I have one more exam tomorrow night. Then I am free!:trk

Wooohoooo!!! Freedom!!!!:shk

I will put together the TLT tomorrow. I have another idea for a project in my head right now. And I actually have time for it! YAYAYAYAYA!:willy

Here's some new pics. I didn't bother putting in the servo yet since I don't have all the electronics yet. It also needs a few more alloy pieces: bumpers and wheels. Going to pick up some purple locknuts for the cantilevers.

I need to get some outdoor shots of this thing, it looks amazing now.:)

I wish I could afford a set of those:drool

To tell you the truth, in the beginning of this build, I only plan to use silver accents with a lot of black and purple. But apparently GPM doesn't make a lot of purple stuff for the TLT...and a lot of the stuff is getting discontinued. So I had to get them in silver.

Anybody know if it's possible to get purple anodized screws?

For electronics, I am saving up for a brushless system. But I still haven't decided on which combo yet. The most important thing for me is the motor must be anodized purple because I think that will really make the tubing stand out.:tong

trinity used to have purple screw packs you can try them

As for purple motor, maybe something from novak but if you come up against a mamba you'll be history. Castle Creations mamba motors and controllers make novak's brushless look well "tyco" :rof

I want something that looks like a Feigao, or maybe a Lehner:willy

A few months ago, before Shawn Palmer left Castle Creations. He said it was possible to get the Mamba heatsink and motor anodized purple for me. Too bad I didn't have the cash back then.:-(

Thanks Supreme!

The CC Mamba lower 2 models is actually what I am looking at. I don't want this truck to be overly ballistic because it will destroy it:p

The brushless idea is more for the looks really. If I can find a anodized purple can brushed motor, I would go for it. But something like a Feigao can is what I am ultimately after.

Also, anybody know if there's some sort of "principle" to designing cantilevers? I am in the process of designing(hand drawing) a second TLT project and I am looking to make some cants since the stock ones won't work with my setup. I am looking to make a prototype myself out of lexan and plexiglass(easy to cut with scroll saw and band saw) first to see if it works; if so, I will look for someone to replicate them in aluminum alloy for me.:)

I cut one side of my mini TXT chassis out today. Just an idea I had that I wanted to try out. The material is 3mm lexan. The design, as many can see, is based on the TXT chassis. It stretches the stock wheelbase a little, not too much, maybe under an inch. I still want to keep the monster truck look using the TLT axles. I hand drew the chassis to 1:1 scale on paper, then scanned 2 copies of it and glued them on the lexan and started cutting! I hope this works out, then I can get them made in aluminum.:)

It took me a couple of hours to cut one side. I will do the other side maybe on the weekend.

Thanks! Yes I agree, the stock chassis leaves a lot to desire for. I guess this is my version of "What Tamiya should have made" for the TLT chassis. This is going to be another loooong project since I design this for the RC4WD R2 transmission and I have to take a while to save up for that.:willy

Too little money, yet too many projects. I just received this couple weeks ago for another TLT build.:bang

Hi guys, I am just starting to prepare the body for mounting. I have 2 spare TLT bodies right now. One that I will use for a "cutting" template for the painter. The other will go for custom painting.

My question now, do you guys think I should cut away the whole rear bed and window for the tube frame to protrude out? Also, I searched around for real monster truck pictures and noticed their wheel wells are cut a lot wider, so I will be following that too. Just deciding on the bed right now.

Lastly, I am still undecided on the paintjob. At first I wanted to go with metallic purple as the main theme with white lightning streaks. But after seeing kjr2's chrome paintjob on his clod, now I want maybe purple chrome with some plain chrome accents.:willy:drool

do the wheelwells first, then if it's not enough do the bed area:tmb

The bed have to be cut somewhat. Because the frame is suppose to stick out to the bed, or the body will be sky high:tong

But if I only cut what is necessary for the frame to clear. It is only half of the bed. That's why I thought cutting the whole bed would look nicer because I have never seen only half of the bed cut lol:rof

Some updates.

I narrowed a set of stock Pajero XC wheels for my flywheels swampers, they fit perfectly. I doubt they will even need gluing because they are such a tight fit, my fingers still hurt from forcing them on the wheels.:willy

At the moment, I am not sure where I am going to use them. Maybe on the XC, or F350, or wait for my K2-3S build.:wnk

Also, I cut a two more pieces for my custom chassis. I might cut more tomorrow if time allows.:)

Lastly, here's some pics of the tires that I plan to use on my monster TLT. They are Flywheels that I picked up when I bought the swampers. But I only bought one of them for test fitting. I had to chop up the included toy wheel and a stock TLT wheel to make a new wheel that fit the tire and mounts on the TLT axle. They are only a little smaller than the stock tires. Look pretty good I think! But it took me about 1.5 hours to make one wheel. I still need to find and buy 3 more and spend another 4.5 hours to make them:bang
