new radio adjustment questions, wheel extenders?

I got a new 2.4g 3 channel radio and receiver from RC4WD.com and it works great in the G.P.
No more glitching but there are a few adjustment issues.
I can get all 4 wheels centered until I put it in crab steering. When i switch to crab steering, the rear wheels turn to the left while the fronts stay centered.
I have been messing with the tie rod and steering rod on the rear, but nothing seems to help. When the rear servo is centered in 3 of the 4 steering modes, it's fine, but as soon as i switch to crab, the rear wheels will not center unless i turn the steering trim (which then throws the fronts off center. I centered both servo's with the steering links unhooked, and i have the steering trim set right in the center.
I really don't care much about crab steering, so it's not really that big of a deal to me, but I just wanted to see if anyone knows why this is happening.

The other thing is that the servos now turn further than they did with the stock radio and the tires are now rubbing on the shocks at full turn. There is nothing on the radio that will allow me to fine tune the servo throw. what can I do about this other than put on a set of wheel extenders to get the wheels further away from the shocks?
Does c.p.e. make a set of extenders that will work with the stock g.p. wheels? or are all lf their extenders made for the clod wheels?
Thanks

Not trying to highjack your thread Pont, but red cat sent me my new 2.4g radio 2channel.Hooked it all up today with the y harness and WOW!!!!!!!!.What a hugh difference, the range i tried was almost 275 feet,no glitching and complete control.Awesome!I am simply loving it.This truck should have came with a 2.4g 3ch out the box.Been doing alot of research on different sites and that stock radio 27mhz 3channel has been glitching for people in the rs10xt,GP(newer ones). It strange, the old rock crawler rs10 no issues, old GP no issues, but the newer GP and rs10xt have been glitching.Hey pont, empty your pms.

yeah i just emptied my pm's, i had no idea it was full.
I got mine all straightened out and it's working so good now.
My tires are still rubbing on my shocks but i can just not turn the wheel all the way and it;s fine.
I just have to manually limit how far i turn the wheels...no big deal.
I put on some deans connectors a little while ago and they made a difference.
Pulling wheelies in my living room with the stock motor.
I'm sending in my lansu radio and receiver this week, but i have no idea what they will do to fix the problem with it.

move the steering link rod closer to the servo mount screw on the horn.
This will lessen the amount of throw by shortening the ''lever'' (horn)

ok, i'll try it.
just move the steering link up a couple of holes where it screws into the horn right?
good thinking!
I made some nylon spacers to go on the ends of the hexes on the axles, which puts the wheels a little further out. The spacers are about 1/8" thick, so there is still plenty of the hex material inside the rims. I just used the spacers to go between the hexon the axle and the hex on the back of the rims and it works good.
the tires no longer rub on the shocks.

back in the 80's most radios didn't have end point adjustments so you had to setup by horn length. Heck, more than a few radios didn't even have servo reverse switches. You had to turn servos around, flip, or only use certain ones for certain cars. We're spoiled now.

So I guess being around R/C for eons has some advantages. :tong

yeah i've been messing with r/c trucks since the early 80's, but i took a long break during the 90's and got out of it.
I remember having to adjust the steering throw by moving the link up on the horn, I just didn't think about it at the time.
I remember my first r/c was the tamiya wild willy jeep, and i used a tamiya stick radio.
ahh, the good old days.
