New project came today! AX10

For the sway bars hitting the springs I did what the mod that I read over on prolines build. I cut the sway bar down and then re-notched it for the set screw and brought the arms right into the battery tray. Then I used a stand off on the end of the arm to the link to bring it back out a bit. No clearance issues at all now.
Awesome I totally missed that when I read through their build! What did you use to re-notch the bars? I think I could do it with a dremel. One thing I noticed with the bar the length it is now is I still get a bit of side to side articulation which I like. But I think I will try shortening them for sure.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

So after bashing it a bit more I have now lost 3 of the 4 screws that hold the transmission in place. I think the torque is just too much for that stock plastic gearbox and it ripped out the screws because the holes are all stripped out. So I need to get an aluminum case. I'm debating on whether or not to shell out the 50 bucks for the vanquish one. I have some limiting straps to put on and I want to get a set of those proline shocks for it. Those look real nice.

Yes I just used a dremel to cut the rod to the length I wanted then slowly worked at the notch till it fit back into the arm properly. I also left a couple of mm of length to so the whole thing can still shift side to side.

As for the tranny issue an aluminum one would help. What I did with my build should take care of two things. I went with the ssd high ratio transmission. So the aluminum case is part of fix with loosing screws but the high ration gears should reduce the torque twist that you get with the stock tranny because of the lower gear ratio. Now I haven't driven mine yet as I'm still waiting on a few more parts but from reading in the wraith forums it does help.

Hot Racing makes a nice looking aluminum trans case.

Oh, and Eric (the guy with the ponytail) bought an AX10 Deadbolt today, now he just needs some Destroyers...................
I saw it in the store the other day! I couldn't hang out long enough to talk to him about it but it looked sweet. He had some giant shocks on there that looked like xmaxx or yeti XL shocks or something and shocks on the sway bars. I might steal that idea if I shorten the sway bar rod, might get a little more side to side action that way to make up for the stiffness from shortening that rod. I'll have to come back soon when I have more time to hang around

So this week I wound up getting a pretty purple transmission case, because I'm impatient and it was the only one I could find on amazon prime haha. I like it. I wouldn't do my whole truck purple but it's cool to have a little hidden gem in the belly of the truck I think. Either way it got me back to bashing which is all I wanted!

And I did a fun little cosmetic mod. I'm in a car club called Bare Bones (I have a 1948 Plymouth coupe...BareBones48..get it?) and basically the club is all pre-1965 custom cars, so I figured since I have a '56 ford body on it, why not give it a club plaque? We had pins made recently that looks exactly like mini versions of our plaques we run on all our cars so I just had to do it haha.

Here's one of our actual plaques.

And the mini version!

So my next upgrade will be shocks for sure, still looking at all my options for shocks. and I just found out about Beef Tubes and I'm for sure getting those.
