New Motor

I put in a Speed Gems 17t double motor last night. Right now I'm running with a 19 tooth pinion. Wow! What a difference! It's a lot of fun, but my slipper in the transmission isn't real happy now. It's clicking even when I'm just driving slowly now. Oh well, I'll see if the LHS has a new drive gear set. :)

More than likely you got a tooth or two busted off the 15 tooth top gear.
Or the clicking is in the diffs.

I ran a li-po, and a mamba max 7700 , and never had to worry about the "factory slipper"

I was breaking top gears, and diff gears.

Put a sampede vxl slipper on it..

Well it was the "slipper" that was slipping. All of the gear teeth were fine. I took William's suggestion and screwed the slipper together. I also replaced the stock spur gear with a Robinson Racing one while I had things apart. I stayed with the 90t gear, but it seems higher quality than the stock one. The truck is quieter now.

The RR gears are nice, just slapped on a 96 tooth spur (biggest one they had) and it actually spins "true", unlike the stocker that wobbled from day one. Why HPI made their spur gear out of recycled Barbie Doll plastic, I'll never know:ack. I'm running a 27T motor in my basher King at the moment, but I need more ponies to push this thing. The XL-1 temporary speedo already gets pretty hot, so until I score a better esc the mod motor will have to wait.

when it comes to gears I prefere the RR gears over everyone else, quality is top notch every time.

Get a traxxas VXL system for it, they're inexpensive and perform excellent
