New Member Saying Hello

Hey guys,

I'm a new registrar, but have been reading around for a while, and there is so much good information here! I just wanted to thank you all for that first. I'm also on Monster Mayhem with the same name for anyone that is on both forums. I am a Grave Digger fan, always have been, and am wanting to get into the more "high end" RC trucks. I am not new to the RC world, I have had the cheap Helis, trucks and cars, and now I want something that I can do more with. I have researched and am wanting to have a true to scale RC Grave Digger. The trucks I am looking at is the Wheely King, Savage XS Flux, and the new Monster Jam Stampede (the GD Body is great). From what I have looked at, and read has me leaning towards the wheely king. It looks the part, but how is the performance? The Savage is fast, is the WK very fast at all? I want some speed and off-road performance in a truck that I can modify to look like a Grave Digger.

Any replies appreciated!

Welcome to the forum....

everyone here is great im sure more will chime in soon....All I can say is the Wheely King has almost endless mods and you can do almost anything with it..Will G invented the wheely pounder and those are amazing..from wat I hear the monster jam stampedes are cool too..you can bash those around pretty good and since its Traxxas the parts are there.

Welcome to the forum!!

My vote would be for the Wheely King with a MJ (Grave Digger) body. You'll have to upgrade the tranny parts and shim the diff's if you plan to put big power to the rig, but other than that it's a fun little truck.

Head down to the Wheeky King forum and take a look at kjr2's GD wheely king. Also don't be afraid to ask question, that's what this place is all about:cool

ultimate grave digger=wheely king

with a few mods:
crawler links/driveshafts
clod wheels/rumbles
traxxas mj grave digger body
HR aluminum trans gears
shimmed diffs
front mounted servo
brushless system(VXL is my choice)

i think that would be a blast to have and i have actually started to gather parts to build the exact truck above but with a monster mutt body or a king krunch body.

my 2 cents :cool

Welcome to the board! Great to see all these newbies on here for us to try and help out. I would definitely go with the Wheely King, it would be a great start for what you want. You can extend it with the crawler kit, widen it easily, it fits all sorts of bodies, etc. I personally use mine for a crawler and it is extended and widened with Clod tires. Good luck :)

hands down, wheely king. As long as you plan on modding it to build strength and performance.

Savage is fast, and handles great stock but is a indepentant suspension truck, not realistic. Same with anything traxxas, all indi's. YUCK

Oh and welcome to RCMT

Wow, thanks for all of the feedback. Your comments and reading on here have convinced me to get the Wheely King. I will take a look at kjr2's tread when I can find it. The whole independent suspension thing had me for the WK. I like realism.

Stampede is not the way to go if you want realistic. Stampede is only 2 wheel drive and has 4 wheel independent suspension. I like WHeely Kings because they have front and rear solid axle and 4wd.

Heres my Wheely King. Stock wheels and tires + Traxxas Grave Digger body. Wheel base extended and 4-linked by William G.

See all about it here:

I have tons of hop ups on it, but most you can't see (internal gears etc.)

Welcome to the board.
I recognized your name from monster mayhem right away.
Glad you came over!

As for truck? I too say wk.
I've been a bit lax in rc activity lately due to my new son,
but I plan to fit a traxxas GD body on my wk, too.
Good luck!

i will add that will g's trucks are perfect. if you want to start with something i would go right for the man will g. grab his truck, add some rc4wd rumble tires and then add the grave digger body. it would be the perfect truck...

She looks perfect for sure! Just wish I had the money right now. It comes with everything needed to run it? Or not?

read up about the ground pounders in the redcat section here.
Basicly that truck (redcat ground pounder) is not something I'd suggest unless a person wanted a project vehicle

Exactly what I was thinking after I read about it. Will, does the Max D you are offering come with everything needed for it to run?

It will need ESC (electronic speed control), receiver, transmiter, battery.
