THanks mo!!

Plus the traditional ECD/Beach chassis is one of the most iconic "lines" of a chassis there has ever been in clod racing in my book. Dont get me wrong the new one looks amazing, but the mixture of form and function of the mini caged clod tubers is just awesome.

The beauty of solid axle trucks is that pretty much any axle can be made to work with any truck if the dimensions are close. Im sure you could make any axle you wanted fit on the truck, how well it would work is another thing though. As it has already been stated in this thread, when you have a full length tuber like that with MOA axles like the GMADE ones and Clod ones, the motors come really super close to hitting the chassis as the suspension compresses. Its why the older ECDR 1 and 2 clod chassis and older Beach chassis have that snub nosed look to them.

Full length replica chassis are really best suited to shaft driven axles, and as long as your not trying to use micro crawler axles Im sure they could all be modified to fit :)

caution buying anything from Italy
The postal service there is very corrupt and very notorious for supposedly losing things.

They are so bad over there, a few years back they went on strike and mail piled up. When they went back to work rather than deliver the backlog they just burned it. Serious.

Hey everybody, well my water jet guy finally made some time to get some of my prototype parts cut out. Check them out!

Here are the sway bar arms and the transmission plate. The transmission is actually centered with the use of this plate.

Here you can see the upper 4 link mounts and the axle shock mounts that double as the outer servo mount on 1 side and the lower 4 link mount. I actually found another good use for the stock twin force/mad for transmission plate mounts. I used 4 of them to mount the shock mounts to the axle to give them 4 points of contact to the axle housing giving them more lateral strength.

The inner servo mount bolts to the outside of the center section using 2 of the 4 screws on the top.

More photos to come.

The shocks are HPI Racing Savage Aluminum units, I found some smaller springs at a surplus store here in town that fit perfectly inside the shock bodies. I finally got the metal tabs back from the laser shop so i mounted them up to the jig, now im going to lay all the steel rod in the jig so it can be welded up in the next week or so. Check the tabs out below.

the parts with the ecd cut out of them are cross members that will get welded in once the 2 frame rails are all welded together.

Thanks
Bari

Ive done a little revamping to the chassis. I shortened the wheelbase a little. I have the new drawing over to my laser cutter to have the first prototype cut out.
here is the updated design, to accomodate the batteries better.

I know it's a bit late, but Congratulations on your World Finals Young Guns win !

This truck is awesome ! I notice you are running the same shocks as I am, minus springs. What kind of oil do you have in them ? Or did you put in some kind of internal spring ? I contemplated trying running 2 shocks per wheel, but don't know if it's feasible.. I also noticed you're going to be using the same body that I just got for my trucks...cool !

While I love this forum, why do all the photos keep disappearing?

guys like me who haven't been here all this time don't get the chance to see the amazing work of a lot of these guys....
it's not the forum, but where the poster hosts them. Many times guys run out of room on a free picture host account and delete so they can put up newer pictures

Bari just posted a video of one up and running

on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Shx126YCCsw you can view it at 1080i
