New Clod Freestyle Stadium *update 8/6/11

Hey everybody got pics of stage 1 of my "Clod Stadium" Im building in the backyard...nothing to big or special just a lil place for the trucks to have fun..

We had an old swingset that needed to come down so out came the axe for sum deconstruction lol.(I think I had too much fun tearing that thing down)

We are going to get a new play set next summer but until then....... this will be my fun zone lol

Up next will be tons of weed killer lol..and then im going to use the tiller to dig up the dirt a lil and add sum more dirt...

That will be fun! Been trying to build up our track the past few weeks and that is almost as much fun as driving the trucks. Once baseball is over we'll be able to spend a lot more time on it.

Looks like a fine spot to me for some Monster Truckin! Keeps us posted, it looks awesome so far and you will have yourself a sweet stadium before you know it.

I have been debating over a few course designs based on how they run racing and freestyle at the real stadiums...i will post a few sketches hopefully tomorrow for you guys :tmb

ok not much progress yet just a small update...

I have about 10 of these cardboard fixtures left over from my old job so im going to put them to excellent use as a base for jump construction..

All of the ramps are gonna be covered in dirt so i can shape it how I want

Im going to take them outside today or tomorrow and make a mock setup..I want a 4 sided medium size table top jump to so im going to start working on that.

I also want to get a few old RC car body to put out there (cause lets face it what good is a monster truck course with no cars to crush lol) looking to get maybe 10 or 12 for 2 rows.. if anybody has any old bodies they would like to donate let me know thanks :tmb

just laid down sum massive weed killer and hopefully next weekend i can dig it up and lay down sum new dirt.. stay with me folks lol :tmb

update:

here are sum pics of all the weeds i have cleared out so far..im going to spray 1 more time then move on the the dirt

I might extend the track 2ft towards the fence and 3ft in the back to add a lil more room....maybe lol

Still trying to decide on a course design...I have in mind for racing...setting up for freestyle should be easy

you can this if you want. take your cardboard "car" and use baking tins and press the car into the baking tins. it will mold itself to the cardboard with a little finesse and from there you have a "crushable"car which will crush down with the weight of a clod.

i took an old TC body and used that as a template and just get a bag of tins(cost like 5bucks for 4-5) and you can setup a car crush course...and they are resuable if you dont really crush them...

my buddy has a small track out behind his house. we go over there and mess around alot. he lives in a small town and has less than i'd say 1/2 acre total. his house sits on that to. so its a small track but we have fun. no i live out in the counrty. we have something like 50 acres. i have been thinking alot about building a good size tack and see if i cant get a curcuit going here. also i would love to build something for a clod to play around on since i am into the clods more than anything. it would also be nice to make a pulling track to. i have plenty of room to do this just gotta get motivated and save up the funds to build.

cant wait to see pictures and/or video of it all when you get it done. :tmb

Short clip of me messing around after I tried out a few jumps...was trying to do donuts backwards and film at the same time...I was just trying to get ideas for the course too

Take a roto tiller then rake and roll that area to smooth it out and get it down to dirt for your track. :tmb
