Don't know how I missed this post. I just posted about this in the general discussion forum. Cool looking truck. Is it just me or does the wheelbase look longer?

I like it much better than when I saw the first picture of it. The bed almost looks like a separate piece though I'm pretty sure its not. It this was on a high lift I'd swear it was a tilting bed. The headlights and grill look very realistic.

Yep, the Tamiya USA site confirms it:
The Mercedes-Benz Unimog's body is made from lightweight polycarbonate material.

darn now that is a bummer (or maybe to me only?) a body of this type shoulda been a hard-bod so you could actually carry a decent load in it without alot of flex. Plus it would make much more awesome scalers given it had some seperate detail parts like the big rigs do.

I'm going on a limb here, but I would say that all future bodies for the CR-01 are going to be lexan.

Just like all future bodies for the Hi-Lift are going to be hard plastic. :tmb

yeah I'd really love to see a 4-door SUV hard-bod and some more newer or at least modern pickups and wish Tamiya would jump into making some extended or crewcab pickup bodies. I guess we could only hope & wish for that day to come.

yeah if the rumor is true that would indeed be awesome but what would be even more awesome is a newly released Chevy body. The Yota bodies is getting a bit whored out IMO.
