If you run a lipo pack you're talking about half the weight. :)

I can see it now...
Swap out the ESC for a mamba max, a 3s lipo battery and :burn

I like the way you think, Will :tmb. This one has my full attention, especially if the aftermarket follows along with hopups. Looks awesome!

I just hope that this won't take any of CPE's attention away from Clods.
It won't, in fact we're helping with the release of another new Clod item coming soon...

The axles are about 11" wide, and will come with open diffs.

Any plans on releasing this as a ARTR for people who want to put thier own electronics in it?

Great, it looks like I will have to get a third job:tmb

Not right now, but it would be fairly easy to do in the future without the electronics. I doubt you'll ever see it available in pure kit form though.

Barring unforeseen problems, we should be able to start pre-selling these sometime in August. It won't be until I know for sure when these would be available though.

You'll have your choice between a red or blue version. The different colors also mean all the anodized parts are changed to match.

I like that fact that it's scaled for the current crop of 1/10 bodies out there... as the Clod tires (though everyone seems to be clamoring for them) are too big to be scale when matched with the current bodies though there have been plenty of "near-scale" customs out there...

My only thing is, I DO wish someone made a wheel that was scale as well

Maxx wheels look like scale 50-inch rims...

maybe some inner beadlock rings to make the rims look smaller?

pure diameter alone is not going to be the only thing to make a wheel/tire combo "scale"

As of now the clod tire is the most scale option for the current crop of 1/10 bodies, for the fact that it is an exact replica of real monster truck tires, just a bit too large. You can have the right "sized" tire but if it isnt proportional to a real mt tire there is no point.

well i didn't say the clod tires weren't awesome :)... they are a great looking tire, and the wheels looks great.. especially with the beadlock rings to decrease the visual diameter of the wheels...

And RC4WD tires are even nicer

I'm just saying that since this truck IS using scale diameter tires, that it would be nice to have a scale rim too...

I'm STILL gonna buy it... I was just making conversation

These wheels actually have an inner beadlock "ring" that's scaled exactly from a 1:1 truck, 40 bolt heads. There are also 12 simulated bolts around the center for the planetery flange. Aside from the fact that a true monster truck wheel doesn't really grab people's attention, the high offset those wheels have would put extra stress on axle components.

As Chad said, the Clod/TXT (and older USA-1) tires ARE 1:10th scale tires, where the Maxx tires are slightly shorter and narrower. It's really the bodies that are small, making those tires seem too large. Going with a Maxx tire also opens you up to the MANY different aftermarket tires available already.

True.. I know the clod tires are 1/10 scale... but I like the fact that you scaled this chassis to the bodies that are available... I know it's the bodies that are wrong, but since we're not going to run our truck w/o bodies we have to take them into consideration when building...

and the Maxx tires are the closest to the scale of the so-called 1/10 bodies that are out... I'm sure that this truck is going to look great and I can't
it wait to see it with a body on it....

My self-control just went out the window:willy Since I first joined these boards, I have dreamed of owning a red-anodized caged-chassis. Thank you, Brett. I'm so happy
