Right on Jay...I going start the build in a couple of days. My WK gears just got in. So what size 32P are you using for the spur and pinion?

the stock 48p gears are 20t pinion and 80t spur (4:1)...i wanted to keep the same ratio, so a 60t spur and 15t pinion would be ideal, but i just used what i had in my toolbox- a 58t spur and 14t pinion (4.14:1)...not a big difference, and still pulls the front off the ground...

I gotta say...this kit is very upsetting if you plan on building it. First off...I got screws missing from parts bags and I had to dip into my own stash to compesate for the missing parts. Second...some parts are not fitting right without MAJOR modification. The hold in screw for the drive shaft that connects to the transmission is WAAAAAAAAY to thick to fit into the end of the drive shaft. I ended up drilling out the drive shaft ends to make the screw fit...that was really upsetting to me.

Over all..one of the crappiest builds I've done. I have stopped for now...but I'm just about done with the transmission and the axles and just need to build the roll cage and get everything hooked up. Also...the instructions, like Jay said, is confusing. NOT MADE for someone first starting out with a fresh build. The axles was kinda getting frustrating determining which end belonged where and where to set it. I had to look down the pages to see some end results..lol!!!

But thanks Jay for the help..sorry I got you at work, but at least I got the WK gears in..thanks again!!

i didnt have any problems with my driveshaft screws...sucks you did...i also was missing some screws, but figured i dropped them without noticing (i built mine outside, so i figured they rolled off the table without me knowing)...i didnt hear anyone else missing screws, so i didnt think they were missing from the kit...

no prob if you call/text me at work...just that my phone doesnt catch there sometimes, so i might respond late...i check rcmt as much as i can at work :)

i like the wraith platform though...i was tempted to buy will's one when he put it up for sale...

i want a wraith cage to put on my scaler...

anyway, here's one off rccrawler that i KNOW you'll love...lol...

^ wow, that skin is awesome
Is it available for sale anywhere?

On my kit I had not fitting issues nor did I seem to be missing screws. However I only built the axles and trans not the actual chassis. I stuffed the driveline into a GP chassis. The wraith I had for sale was a kit version.

DAYYYUM Jay...that HOTWHEELS is mine!!!! lol!!!!

I think I going look um up tonight...

I just about got everything on...just gotta work on the wheels now. Jay...I think I might need help with the mounting of the batteries. I like the way you run yours...so I didn't even mount the bat holder or install the interior yet..

also...going run my 4600KV first and see how I do with her. Just gotta hook up with you later for that door hinge to help hold up the drive shaft..

I'm still jazzing over the HOTWHEELS decals..lol!!!

i knew you'd love the hot wheels theme...

just buy one of the 4" brass door hinge pins from city mill/lowes/home depot (city mill has it for $2 i think- anyway, was cheap)...looks like this:

cut off the head and cut the remaining cylinder part in half...stuff it into the hollow part of the male driveshaft...the tubing is there to keep the shape of the driveshaft so it doesnt collapse on itself...it wont go all the way, and some will stick out...leave it, so if need be, you can pull it out with pliers to access the set screw on the inside of the shaft...just bring a driveshaft with you (got lots of spare male driveshafts in the kit- just to make sure the diameter of the hinge can fit snugly in the driveshaft. (the ones from city mill fit perfectly)...

can use other stuff too- wooden dowel, aluminum tubing, etc...

if you run the battery the same as mine, cant use the interior...you might, but you'd have to cut a lot from it...just look at the pics...all self explanatory...i pretty much just zip tied the holder in place...and secure the battery with the included straps...

I have read a lot that people are having issues with the kit- missing screws and pins, terrible instructions, and overall poorly done. I like axial and hopefully this won't be a trend.

Finally got her all together...

Was funny...I had this thread up the entire time as one reference on how to mount the batt and the ESC. Sorry Jay I stay biting your set up...lol!!!! I found out I had the diff on backward in the rear axle so I had to fix that. She should be ready for her first drive tomorrow. Now I gotta work on the Clod rims and tires. I have the set of clod tires off of my Mod Clod..so I'll just modify those to fit the stock rims. Then I gotta put in the door hinges..

Can't wait to see her in action

So far my kit has all the screws. Only issue I have had with it is the manual and some of the part numbers. It might give the sprue number but not the actual part number. So then I have to look at it and hope I pick the right part. It also does not clearly show in the manual that the gears in the front and rear diff are put in opposite to each other. Other than that I am quite happy with the kit. Looking forward to getting mine running after reading threads like this and seeing other peoples Wraiths.

Eh sean It's called the leak indicator so you know that the shock can move up and down or like vw air cooled engines like to leave their territorial markings on the ground hahahahaha
