My Stocker Does Wheelies!

thanks for the links. I think I should invest in a good charger.
I've concluded that good batts are needed too. My old, tired matched-3300s won't wheelie like that at all. More like they just barely lift the front of the ground.

that's what stockers are famous for! :p (and their hilarious ways of bouncing around)

Try some magnetic mayhems, you'll love them, I run them in my stocker with a 8 cell setup. And yes that also does wheelies... although your silver cans look pretty powerfull there!

r00g - the bouncing around is funny! I like to go full speed across the grass (in front where there is a lot of room) and watch it bouce around :p

4wdmt - No, the 4200mAh capacity only has to do with runtime. The higher the capacity, the longer it will run. BUT, newer batteries are more powerful than old ones. And 4200s are pretty much the newest NiMh batts you can get. They have super duper punch and power. 3600s and 3800s have mad power too. I think any IB cell (3600, 3800, 4200) that is fully charged will wheelie a stock Clod if your ESC doesn't have current limiter built in.

My old charger wasn't fully charging the 4200s. It would take like 45 minutes at 3A. Now it takes 67 minutes at 4A which makes more sense if you think about it mathematically. 4A charge should charge 4000mAh in one hour. My 4200 acutally takes 4300-4400 mAh according to my charger.

I will also say that a good ESC makes a difference. I had a cheapy Mtroniks tempo 12t limit in my juggernaut2, then upgraded to an LRP f1 pro and the power, runtime and smoothness were all noticabley improved....

my stock clod runs a rather tired old Novak reactor and would prolly do better with a high $$ ESC but I built the whole thing on a shoestring so I cant be too fussy....

the high end ESC's will run much lower internal resistance(the F1 pro is particularly good on this score) and I beleive this is what helps it seemingly make the most of your batts...

I also have Deans Ultra plugs on the batter/esc wires and the motors are hard wired... I don't know if that makes a difference but I'm sure bullet-connectors are energy wasters...

well IMO the stock motor wires are a bit of a bottleneck... I have had them melt together in the past... :roll

I also use deans for batts, sometimes for the motors too... depends how many vehicles I need to use the ESC in....

however my finest batts are unmatched GP3300 stick packs... this is most likely why mine wont wheelie on command...
