Whats up guys,
Finally Im working on an R/C truck!!! This is my sons Stampede that needed to be Monster'ed up alil. I've got to thank everyone else that has already did a build up like this. It made my build alot easier. I first started with drawing up a new chassis and having a buddy cut it out for me. Its 2 inches longer and made out of 1/4" 6061 aluminum. Its a double decker style with speed holes machined out. I also made my own adapters to fit the Clod wheels. This will be a replica monster of Avenger. I just finished painting the wheels and the body will be my next project to paint. I'll keep posting up progress pics.
The 1st. pic. is stock with the clod wheels and th last is with the stretched chassis.

Thanks,
Terry

Heres acouple pics. with the chassis together and the new rims on it.
Yea, kinda thick I know but it was just a piece I had layin around from a motorcycle project and I figured what the heck! LOL.. this is what happens when you get bored at 3or4 in the morning and draw up a chassis and get it cut the next day! I'll start working on painting the body after we get back from the World Finals ......... Hes a pic. of my boy with his favorite guy Mr. Excitement !!

Ok, so its been like a million years since I started this tread on building my son a Clod-o-pede. Well its finally finished !!

Its went through acouple changes since I started this but I think the finished product turned out pretty good..... Like I stated before I made the chassis, I was going to change up the body mounts to side mounts but with most of the graphics being on the sides I didnt want to mess them up. So I stuck with the top mounts. I used velcro battery straps and changed out the motor . Made my own adapters for the clod rims . I guess the biggest change has been the body. My son has been on a HUGE Suzuki kick so I figured we'd go that route....... Here it is. I have acouple minor things to do but it will be finished by Xmas for him. Here ya go..............

Terry you built something....awesome looks good. I had a clod a pede before and I had like the smallest pinion I could find with the largest spur I could get. Dont remember the size but we had quite a few guys on the board who will know.

Your boy should be happy.

It seems like I remember reading that 12 teeth is about as low as you can go for the pinion. As for the spur, maybe 90-something?

Totally Rad!!!

I am such a fan!

Why didnt I notice Clodapede's before? Especially since I have been building up my ScorpionClod this year?!

I think I need to get started on one of these myself!

Although Im not returning to RC after a 15 year break like you are, Ive only been in to RC for one year as of Christmas Day at the end of this week!!! So Ive got some research to do!

Very cool project Sir!

Hey Fellas !

Thanks alot for the good word ! Im pretty happy with the fit of the body also. It seems to flow pretty well with everything ! Thanks for the help on gearing too.... I went with a 13pinion and 86spur to strat and see where we're at...... Like I siad hes only 8 and I dont need this thing rip roarin at 90mph yet !! LOL But when I gave it a test run before getting the new gear set up it was a dawg !! Like it couldnt get out of its own way ! Hahaa Im building him a Clod right now also to race (hopefully ) and we'll work on the speed with that...

Thanks again guys !~
