My slash

Built this up over the past month, bought a roller off ebay, painted the wheels to make it different than everyone else's, and my LHS only had the stock body. I was impatient and dumb and tried shooting the body when it was too cold out, the red and silver didnt come out good so I masked the black off last night, shot the outside with a coat of polycarb indy silver followed by duplicolor flat black and followed up the edges with pactra silver trim tape. Looks pretty cool to me. Here's a quick shot:

For now I'm running a TQ2, jr servo, explorer 2 esc, and a speed gems 2 16x2. What should I run for a pinion with an 86t spur? I know with the pede/rustler its generally 2 teeth below the turns of the motor but wasnt sure with the smaller diameter tires. Pending if I can get work off I may start racing in a stock class which Id have to pick up a stock esc/motor/steering servo but for now its just a basher/fun rig.

Let me know what you think!

I like the paintjob and the wheels. Makes it stand out for sure.:tmb

I just recently did pretty much the same thing, picked up a slash roller and slapped in some old electronics from an old pede I had. Mine's running an old Krypton Krystal 14double and a first gen Rooster ESC. Originally I had used 18/86 gearing, but am now running 15/90 and like it much better. I also swapped on Proline Epic rims with Switch tires. They are a little taller than the stockers. Also the track I run on is pretty tight, there's not much room to wind it out, so the low gearing works very well...
