well went to visit a friend at a local tuner shop and stopped by the local R/C race track, low and behold sitting on a shelf with a for sale sign.....let me know what you think???:cool

just charged up a 1500nimh for fun to see how it runs, really funny watching this thing run around. actually pretty quick for what it is and is really hard to control. i gotta figure out how it works before i run over my dog.:D:D

this thing is a blast, i cant wait to get some snow to try the plow out. so far it boogies through grass and mulch pretty good.
anyone know of any upgrade motors for this thing? def want a little more speed....

yeah those with the brushless ones are the ones with a single 540 motor, mine has the 2 380 size motors.

i think im going to grab bearings and some hot rod motors off tower...and maybe upgrade some wiring, its like 20 gauge?!? kyosho must have been smoking something giving it small wiring...

i have been looking at the stock speed controls and i think i may be able to make it dual brushless. but for now im going to stick with some hop up 380 motors and bearings. im not 100% about the drivetrain holding up to brushless.

2 of these

and a bearing kit from ebay should make it fly pretty good while keeping it somewhat stockish...dont wanna tear her apart just yet.

That there is a nice looking blizzard , Think you can mod the stock motor mounts , with a dremel and fit 540 can motors in there.

i dont know if i want to mod the mounts just yet. the thing is pretty light for its size so i think if i did go brushless i would stick with 380 size motors.

i did some research, according to the blizzard forum you can add a few small mods to reduce drivetrain loss. bearings are one but also some kind of mod to the tracks by using the nitro blizzard drive wheels which are metal and reduce the chance of binding the plastic. im going to look into it more.
bearings are a must, the blizzard is very very loud and you can hear the bushings. also im still on a molex connector, im sure once i swap to the TRX style with a battery bigger than 1500mah it will go a little faster. its also lipo capable so ill try a 2s i have laying around once i get the TRX connector swapped. should be pretty quick on 2s.

i am waiting to attach the plow due to no snow this year. i really have nothing else to push...

ill be ordering the bearings, motors, and extra TRX connectors this weekend. will post the build up once i get them.:cool

oh and any ideas on a body other than a van? the only van i would do would be the virginia beach beast but i want something original.
shoot me ideas on here and we will see what comes up

Those things look cool!!

I saw that Youtube video with the brushless setup running in the snow, all you see is the cab and rooster tails:cool

ok been looking at tons of info. here is what im thinking:

i will try to use to xl5 speed controls, 2 titan 380 motors with 1 2s lipo

think it will work? not enough power?im hoping this would work as the remote is 4 channel so no problem making each xl5 a channel like the original 2 speed controls...
