Welcome aboard RCMT :)

Those are pretty good sized tires, what did you gear it to?

Thanks, I havn't decided on what gearing to go with yet with this lipo/brushless set up. First im going to see how this thing moves first with stock gearing.

Well the ''Tad Brace'' is a good idea if you haven't done it. :wnk You can see more info in the FAQ stickied at the top of this forum.

Copper tubing to sleeve the driveshaft U-joints is another good idea.

Like Will said your going to NEED the "Tad" transmission brace and motor brace. I would even recommend strapping the motor down to the brace and electronics plate. With all those I've gotten the stock 48p spur to survive under the power of my relatively weak Novak Havoc/ss5800/2s lipo combo but I wouldn't make any promises for that 3s lipo you have.

I also think your going to need to fab up some swaybars because with the suspension flexing in those pics that means your going to have some bad torque twist.

ok.. well i got everything in and done. Test drove it 5 mins ago and am having some crazy problems. I will post pics of the truck as its updated.
My opinion is that this truck needs a lot of fab work before it is ready for the track unless you dont care for breaking it.

problems?
-i already ripped the spur in shreds*my mistake of starting out with all the power on a test run without tweaking the gear*. Any opinions on gearing?
-The steering seems that all the wheels front and back all turn the same way?

If you haven't done so already you really need to do some research on the forum here. Guy's have already "been there done that." Like mentioned before the "Tad Brace" would have helped your spur gear problem etc... plus I noticed recently that guys are beefing up the alxe near the pumpkin housing. Once again- if you haven't already done so spend some time and find the treads where the guys have well documented their findings on this truck. Good luck and have fun!

As said you need a transmission brace to keep it from flexing with the extra power you get with brushless system. I stripped my spur in 5 seconds when I switched mine. It helps to flip the tranny plate. Will need to put a brace above the motor to keep it from flexing up and zip tie it will help it also. Go back and read some of the old posts and you will see some of the mods we have all done to keep things from breaking.

I went with the ''Tad Brace'' and 32 pitch gearing on mine. Going to see what the new motor mount looks like. It's not released yet but I can wait it's still winter.

draned 90% of the oil out of the shocks and run NO preeload on the springs

suero balljoint moved to the 2nd hole for both servos

flip battery try around to the frunt --- puts waght in the frunt helping with wheelys

wait, hold on

first
is it all stock, stock esc and motor?
If all stock it's either motor wires are backwards, or you changed the ch2 servo reverse setting on the RADIO

If it's your VXL brushless it's either
1 You changed the radio CH2 to either for or rev swap it
2 You swapped the outside 2 motor wires backwards

ALL easy fixes that don't even require tools :wnk

lol i thought they were easy. Just i checked it all and on my trx reciever and remote everything works fine besides the rear steering because its not a 3ch remote. Then i swapped recievers and remotes to stock with my brushless system and the truck goes backwards but all steering works fine. As of now i purchased new spur, and all the extra parts off redcatracing.com for back ups and maybe this time will work out better for me. hehe
