YEAH MY FRIENDS!!! I've wanted a scale classic monster truck for a long time and after taking a good look at the NTPRA's pics gallery and what i had in hand, i started to build something out of my layin' around stuff and off course, my imagination combined to my knowledge of monster trucks!!! So, here's what i came up with, more pics will come soon as i'll be giving him his first miles tomorrow!!!! Work in progress, first i want to test it to make sure everything's working perfectly THEN i'll be making the last remaining bits of the truck, especially my roll cage and body work!!! Feel free to give your thoughts and comments!!!!

The ''recipe'' (LOL):

-Body: Clodbuster with scratchbuilt grille and up-coming tailgate (i got the body incomplete)
-Wheels: Clodbuster
-Upper frame rails: Tamiya F-350 High Lift
-Lower frame rails: RC4WD TrailStomper complete chassis
-Shocks: RC4WD King scale shocks
-Leaf springs: Tamiya F-350 High Lift mixed with RC4WD springs to double the number of leaves
-Transmission: Tamiya TXT-1
-Differentials: Tamiya TXT-1
-Motors: Dual Traxxax Titan 550
-Driveshafts: Traxxas E-Maxx wheel driveshafts cut to specific lengths
-Servo mounts: my own design. I've made a master (wich is posted here in the TXT-1 section in the Steering Set-up section) and then shipped it to a machine shop!
-Servos: mixed...i picked up what i had in hand but i don't expect them to live too long so i'll suggest to use some Futaba Heavy Duty ones as i'll get when replacing time will come!!
-Speed control: Traxxas E-Maxx for dual brushed motors!
-Reciever: Hitec HP-2RNB with BEC system
-Tie rods and drag links: Tamiya turnbuckle tie rods with custom made drag links

Big thanks for the nice words, guys! It it VERY appreciated!! BCCrawler, I can't go otherwise for the frame since the transmission is bolted to the Tamyia frame, as it's the only one of the 2 frames to have some holes UNDER the rails (the RC4WD frame is drilled on the sides only and i don't have a press drill to drill it!) Also, this is the only way i could match them together as the Tamiya frame is bolted to the shock mounts of the RC4WD frame!!! Mastertaco, don't worry, i'm currently working on the links in order to save my leaf springs and prevent them from kinking...

Hey there, guys!!! After being off the work bench for a while, i finally got back to work on the Monster Chevy and even figured out his name (well i guess...LOL).. Finally finished my suspension, i'm currently strapping my leaves with shrink tubing (VERY realistic and works pretty well so far!). Took some pics of where i am so far, more to come but for now, here's what i got:

Man, it's been so long since the last post that I totally forgot this awesome build! I'm glad I subscribed to this thread back then!:)

I like what you have done to it. Looks very cool. Are you gonna get some scale shocks or keep those coilovers?

Can't wait to see more! And I hope you post updates more often!:)

Glad to hear ya, Paul!!! Well yeah i'll stick with the King shocks as i NEED oil filled shocks to make SURE i won't kink my leaves anymore... Originally, i ran the factory shocks back in the days when it still was a Tamiya F-350 and within a few jumps, each main leaf of each spring was totally bent and kink (the shackles even flipped over)... Don't worry, i got more pics in the cam as i'm progressing! Tomorrow evening i'll be putting the axle back under the truck!!!

Hey guys!! Long time no see LOL !! Work is still going on pretty well!! The body is actually being cut up and reworked in order to figure out the roll cage desing. I've also sent a message to Mr. Boyer to see if he would have any spare time to make me a roll cage BUT on my side i'm still check my options to make it my self. I got some stainless tubing but all i have to weld it is a huge Lincoln ARC welder!!!...

Hey guys!!! just had a flash...Do you think i could turn some HPI SHOCKS into HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS???? That would be WAY more realistic to me than those pneumatic ones...!!!

you might be able to but no guarantee I'm a little rough on the scale of the hydralic systems avail for rc but they might be a bit... huge

1/10 scale shocks on a 1/8 scale Tamiya TXT-1 axle...Shouldn't be too bad... Those pneumatic cylinders, however, are pretty big....
