That is just sick looking Joe, I would vote for your truck. If you put in the ROM.
Thanks rocpede4x4.. Not sure if this or any of my rides is ROM worthy and my photography skills is not the best. We have alot more cool rides here on RCMT.

Aloha

Beautiful work Joe. Those cantilever brackets are a lot more complicated than I would've figured. Can't wait to see it run!

Thanks Kent.. What you see is a simplified version as a two axis. I knew I needed to have some flexability when mounting the cantilever based on what I've learned from GP Axled CKv1 where the cantilevers are parallel to the chassis and perpendicular to the axle that when the axle articulates, the push rod's angles inwards and away from the cantilever center.

But after spend a few night going through the various holes on the brackets and chassis cross brace with all the possible positions to where you see it at its best I could come up with, I'm thinking adding the third axis back in.

BTW should we have a GTG / Test-n-tune early next month to finalize the 2013 rules so I can update the club's hand book before the season starts?

Been thinking the same thing. I finished converting my Bounty Hunter over to lipo and geared it up for Super Stock and just within my yard the thing looks faster than my old Mod truck! I want to test it out in the open and it would be nice to see how it stacks up against others. I just wish the weather would improve.

Yeah. its been raining lately. But I do hope we can have a GTG/TNT a few weeks before the start of the 2013 season to finalize the handbook's class rules, race schedule and points system.

Actually I was hoping we'd get the handbook/rules settled before Christmas. The sooner we get flyers posted in the hobby shops the better. Probably will just have to go with the start date which right now looks to be January 27th. Not sure if Preston will have all the dates ready.

Finally spent some time on this build and got the Novac ballistic 4.5 motor and MMP ESC mounted and a sway bar system figured out and installed.

All I need to do is to fabricate the body mounts and install the receiver.

Thanks for looking gang and Aloha

like the truss underneath, more like a 1:1 would use
Question, why the shrink wrap on the axle outer joints, did you have trouble with screws backing out??

Very cool build Joe

Thanks Bill.. I haven't had any problum of the screws backing out yey but from what I've been hearing of them backing out I figure I'll try to use shrink wrap in hopes of not loosing any screws.. I've lost enough screws aleady. LOL

Thanks for the interest. And sorry gang for the lack of updates due to work load overload and not making our February race.

I did manage to get her done and bench tested the night before our January race just to find out after a hard landing from our big jumps, the new servo wouldn't self center and was hard to control durring our first qualifier. I've replaced the servo with a new backup and missed the second qualifier just to find out that this servo also also didn't self center durring our main.

I will never buy "AllTurn" servos again even after speaking with the fellow off-road racer who we bulk ordered with that some needs to be broken-in per his experience. I may try to run them a bit more just to see if its true.

Aside from the my servo issues, the truck seems to jumps and turns nice with my poor driving skills though the side to side correction is a bit twitchy, I'm thinking the shocks is compressing to fast and thicker shock oil should help it. The direct drive with center diff worked well as I planned (IMO) by distributing and equalizing the power to keep the truck on all four wheels durring hard eccenleration and braking. It was able to enter a turn hard and apply the brakes with out lifting the rear tires and exit the turn at almost full throttle without lifting the front wheels off the ground and having them continou pulling the truck forward. One of the beauties of having a center diff on a shaft truck (IMO).

Hope to get some work to the shocks and save up some funds for better servos before our next scheduled race.

Aloha

the cheap servos never pay off...

i bought some tower pro servos off ebay, and many broke after a few runs, and one broke just after one run...i also had bad experiences with the EXI servos...the splines arent "normal" size, and you need to use a good clamping servo arm to get a good bite on the output gear, or else it'll just keep shifting on you...and after i did that, it broke and ended up twitchy after a few runs as well...

to me, not worth it since it takes time to remove it, and swap it out, not to mention it could cost the race...

i also notice the speed and torque ratings are way overrated on the cheap servos..

In most cases you do get what you pay for and cheap servos are no exception.

I've had good luck with the Savox servos I currently have with the exception of these servos being noisy power hogs. So I figure try other low cost brands and lost this time.

Oh well back to saving/waiting more for Futaba or Hitech.

Spent some time playing in the shop and made the motor/center diff plates and bearing adapters.

Hope to fabricate the spacers and assemble this weekend.

Aloha
