ill be watching this build. the machine work is just amazing.:cool:cool:cool
Thanks.. I try to build my rides so it looks cool when I loose due to my poor driving skills.. LOL It's always been about the build over racing for me.

Wow looks really really good..I remember the other direct drive you did.
Yeah I tryed a Novak HV 6.5 550 on my v1 chassis that I built months ago with Wraith axles and it ran surprisingly well with 2s lipo. Punch off the line was good with no signs of cogging and braking was controlable with the exeption of the cantilever suspension needed more tuning.

Wow ! This direct drive should prove to be quite the rocket... Very cool craftsmanship !
So far I'm liking the direct drive setup as noted above thus v2's center diff design in hopes to not only help distribute power too four wheels but more forgiving on drivetrane parts.

looking real good
should prove to be tunable too
I try to design in as much tunable option on all my rides in hopes that I use them and it helps my not so good driving. LOL

Thanks for looking gang and I'll keep posting as I go on.

Aloha

Good morning gang. Spent some time in the rehab room last night and made the chassis cross braces. Assembled the chassis and mounted the direct drive unit.

The top braces where drilled not to only look cool and remove material but will double as an adjustable cantilever assembly mount.

Thanks for looking.

That just looks so sweet. The side view reminds me of a chassis from when I used to rc rock crawl. Ill try to find a pic of it.

Due to the family nature of this board I can't fully express how sweet this build is looking. :p

Nice work! Those cross braces are incredible.

You're going to run cantilever suspension ??
Currently I'm for cantilever suspension if my theories are correct. I'll find out as I continuous building my rides.

JoeWorks, that thing is frikkin' sweet!!
cross braces make that look very cool if it wasn't already

Thanks Gang. This is what I enjoy about our side of the hobby.

Thanks RCMAN..

It?s never too late for anyone to get into any career just as long as it makes one happy and meets ones financial requirements/needs.

At my old age, some times I too think about the what if?s, such as what if I went into the metal working after high school instead of the direction I followed? Or what if I went into automotive, being a machinist, woodworking etc. Don?t get me wrong, I do enjoy my career, it allows me this hobby (so far..LOL).

Spent some time in the shop this afternoon and fabricated a set of axle link mounts and spent some time mocking up the suspension.

I did come across a clearance issue between the motor and lower link thus the creation of that one bent link. So far the suspension cycle nicely and the drive shaft angle is working.

Got the cantilever assembly brackets made this past weekend.

Spent the past few nights tweaking on the cantilever assembly for the best position and suspension movement. I've also had to fabricate a me set of upper links so when the the front transfers the caster angle doesn't drastically change.

Next is to figure out a sway bar system, create the remainder of the motor too chassis mount.

Thanks for looking gang.

I like how those came out...the chassis look really strong too..should be able to handle those courses you guys setup to race...Do you still have the Ground Pounder based one you did?

Thanks.. So far its comming along.. I do have a bit of a concern with body roll at this moment and I'm not sure if its caused by the way the four link is set up. Being upside down, triangled lower links, to solve the clearance issues I had with the Wraith's diff housing not being centered and the output shaft of the center diff being higher in design that caused the triangulated upper links hitting the drive shaft.

I'm hopping the addition of the sway bars and tweaking of the shock's oil and spring will minimize the roll/twist.

I'm in this far so I'll finish to the end and we'll see what happens.

And yes I do have the GP axled CK v1 that will be tweaked for our RCMT-HI 2013 Super Stock class.

Thanks.. I do enjoy working with metal more then wood. But I do from time to time work on a few wood working project with tools that my father and I have collected though the years such as my table and radial arm saws, router/table, mortise and tenon jigs and chisel etc. at his garage.

I just enjoy the planning and working with my hands and the reward of seeing what has been created.
