Must Have Upgrades for Hardcore Bashing?

Hello there,
I am considering getting one of the new Super Clod Buster truck. I like getting air in the truck and will often try to hit short curbs for air and a sky wheelie. I also will jump off of high up things or things sticking out of the ground for air. I broke a stock Traxxas Stampede in one run and a stock Redcat Racing Ground Pounder in 5. I want my next truck to last. Therefore, I want to know if anybody can recommend upgrade parts to increase its durability. Thanks!

yeah if you are breaking Stampedes then modified clodbusters is not the waaay to go- costly and parts break. Try a Mad Force Kruiser VE

if a stampede broke on you the first run a Clod WILL NOT last for 2min with you.(if you run it as hard as you did with the pede) sounds like someone needs to be easier on R/c's(lol), but yea i may bash mine around, but curb jumping(the way it sounded is like you run full speed into curbs expecting to jump them that'll break any rc) thats a big nono in my experience.. nothing will last doing that kind of stuff. can crawl up and over curbs but not jump them(without some ramp anyway)

sounds like you need a derby car man.

Oh, no, no, I didn't make the curb thing all that clear. Have you ever seen an actual monster truck wheelie contest? If you have then you would have noted how slowly they approach the cars for a wheelie and air. That's how I treat short curbs. I make sure I can clear them before even trying something on them. Besides, I was new to the hobby at the time when I broke the Stampede and I ran it up a tree the first time I ever ran it outside of the training mode. That was 2 years ago! Since then, I have learned so much about what you can and cannot do with an R/C monster truck. As far as curb jumping, after upgrading caster blocks (tree accident), shock mounts, and an arm of some sort on the stampede, it never broke again, even when I jumped curbs. I just enjoy the feeling of power and realism of controlling a small monster truck. These days, real monster trucks spend more time in the air than on the ground in freestyle. I don't want to launch the Clod Buster 35 feet off the ground, but I do like to see the tires leave the ground. All I am asking is upgrades for a guy who loves getting outside with an R/C truck and doesn't mind getting his hands dirty to get there.

I'd get a 4 link on there and some oil shocks. Then put a nice esc in there. A nice esc makes a big difference.

does anyone else find it funny that he broke a stampede in one run, but took five to break the gp? if you're that tough on equipment and really want a clod, buy some integy axle tubes rrp pinions and hot racing counter gear.

but yea for that kinda of stuff a stock clod with a little bit of modding will do the trick

heres some vids of mine its mostly stock in these vids i had 11turn motors with stock pinions and a 2s lipo and non stock shocks

First video was when i had 3 1/2inch shocks on it with tall shock mounts
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkLPZqEOZ10&feature=g-upl

this one i have different shock mounts and shocks on it switched over to 5inch shocks all same electronic in both videos

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMR2Sdg4u-w&feature=g-upl

at the moment i have mine extended by 2 inch(still stock tub) makes it look better imo.

I saw both of those videos. I didn't know those were yours and have stumbled across those videos many a time. Is your Clod Buster the newer or older Clod Buster. Wait, that's a stupid question, it's more likely to be the older one. I love the body on your truck in the second video a lot. As far as shocks go, are Traxxas E-Maxx Big Bore shocks a bad idea? What shocks did you use? Also, I figured I'd tell you, (Mastertaco) while I was at it that CPE has a suspension lift kit that lifts your truck 1/2 an inch!

What did you do to that truck? I saw the chassis in the description, but what else is upgraded on it? Also, what ESC and motor are you using? That truck is amazing! I'd love to see it off road! Great video! :cool
