Hey Jchung, what do you think of the Dark Impact? I have heard some pretty cool stuff about that one.

Hello mcfig, out of all the "new" buggies from Tamiya, my favourite is the Dark Impact. The build was awesome, but that's saying nothing since it's a Tamiya. I really like this buggy because it is one of the cheaper buggies from Tamiya that actually handles quite nice and it came with full ball bearings! The DF03 is very popular for racing here. I don't race, I am only a basher. But I just love driving the DI.

I am trying to fix up the steering right now, I think it might be the servo's problem. Trying to get it ready so I can bring it to the cottage with me tomorrow.:tong

Are you sure you let that beauty run? I bet you just pushed it a few feet on the pavement and made some engine sound, vroom vroom...

how about some vid. and where is the killer body?

I drove it for like a minute in circles on my driveway, like that time driving your bruiser:rof

I will probably paint the body next week. I will get a vid of it slow running in circles to show that it really moves. No offroad vids:rof

Just ran the Tamtech tonight one last time before back to school for me. Going onto my second year in materials science and engineering tomorrow. Not a lot of time left for RC's until Xmas, but I will still check the board since I have my laptop, maybe during lunch or during class (just kidding):tong

This was the first time i drove the BC with the new shocks on. Much much much better handling than before. For once, I drove it off the driveway and it didn't flip a million times and skid across the road.:rof

Nice looking rides there. Love that truck, and I need to add a BC to my collection yet too. The Tamiya aeration dampers are an amazing upgrade. I am running a Mamba 5400 in my TT Fox with an 18 tooth pinion, and could still go up if I really wanted to. If I were you with the 8K I would try a 16 or 17 tooth pinion, and see how that treats ya. I think you will come to find that even a 15 is gonna be slightly under geared.:tami

Thanks! I have 11T right now and it's definitely undergeared. Now to find a place to order some pinions...my LHS rip me off on the pinion...it was $10! I found out they only sell them for $4 online.:bang
