Monster Jam driver swapping?

I've been watching monster trucks for years, but I still can't figure out why there is so much driver/truck swaps in Monster Jam. I just saw the Holland coverage on SpeedTV and noticed Damon Bradshaw who drives the Airforce after burner truck driving El Toro Loco. I also noticed it on the World Finals coverage last year when Pablo Huffaker was driving the Ninja Turtle truck which Aaron Basl normal drives.

it's all one company. the holland one intrigued me since damon's chassis was there but george was driving it, but other than that, there's usually a lot of driver/body swaps after 1st quarter is over.

as far as the world finals vehicles, pablo runs his digger chassis with a turtle body, and generally charlie runs a mutt body on his digger chassis as well, but some drivers just get put in another chassis for the wf (tingler in mutt dalmation comes to mind)

bottom line - it's a business, and since they don't want to have 6 diggers competing in vegas, they put them in other company chassis or put the bodies on the chassis they normally drive.

True. It's all nonsense to me. Get a frakkin truck with a theme and drive it, for heaven's sake:bang They don't do this crap in Formula One or Nascar. If I pay to come out and see the number 24 car race, then Jeff Gordon had better be behind the wheel. Thankfully, Dennis was driving the Digger a few weeks ago when they came to Miami. I won't pay to see a team driver. Putting multiple bodies on a chassis??

I have never seen a mutt body on a green digger chassis,
not saying it ain't been,
just never seen it..

If the only way you'll spend money is for one body, to be on one chassis, driven by one driver,
then this is not the sport for you money to go to...

If you have shows across the united states, and you need a field of 6-20 trucks to compete, you can't have every driver in every state in one truck for that weekend.

It's the Only way you will see monster trucks in your area, is for their vast fleet, and mulitple drivers to take the wheel of any truck they have to get in to put on a show...

And is only makes sense to be able to swap bodies onto different chassis at the drop of a hat...
Just like nascar cars have back-ups upstairs in the hauler,
and even other teams have loaned cars to other teams for a race, and the other team just put their body work, and stickers on...

If I "HAD" to have a seperate complete clod truck for every body I have painted and wanted to run, I would have to have someone else paying all my bills, and live at your house..And still only have a few trucks...
<<<<<<<<<<MONEY>>>>>>>>>>

Do you go for the show?
The driver?
The driver only to be in that one truck?
Only for one body to be on one chassis?

Big Dawg has even run a foot body on ocassion to make a show have a variety, when scheduling & geography makes it impossible to book truck everywhere......

They could only do shows with the drivers that are "suppose" to be the only driver for that truck, but, expect the show counts across the states to decrease 90%

Last I checked the US Air Force doesn't have much to gain sponsoring a truck running in Europe. Lots of fans want to see Grave Digger, so more than one truck is necessary to do so. That team has more than one capable driver so you're going to get a great show regardless of who the driver is.

At either last years or two years ago WF, one of the trucks was running a Digger chassis that had been hastily spray painted black. THINK it was on Mutt.

-I do think the Max.D body looks odd on a Patrick chassis tho, that's how it was in Europe, I think due to it being easier to carry spare parts for the Patrick chassis they have, & also, Tom Meents wouldn't have to risk the chassis that he owns. It must be even harder for them to carry spares, with the new Feld chassis, and it'll be in high demand w/ the new Robby Gordon trucks:tmb

Feld owns Tom's truck and chassis as well. Tom also ran his Willman style chassis in Europe opposed to the Patrick chassis Max-D this year. Agreed it didn't look right before, and Tom hated the way it drove.

You are correct Brett. Charlies digger was spray painted black for vegas last year. Pablo's turtle was done up just like they did Randy's turtle the year before, cut the digger frame supports off and welded on new supports for the turtle body. Either way, vegas should be extremely good this year.

Cool thanks for all the info guys. I know that Feld Motorsports owns most of the trucks and that's why I was curious. I know the worlds wouldn't be as good if you had 4-5 diggers there so it makes sense. It was just one of those moments I had where I had to ask :tmb

Agreed. One of the last two trucks yet to be announced will be Shocking.
Hmmm....Could it be Ground Pounder:wish

With all the threads that have been started about Monster Jam, can we keep this one from getting locked or deleted. I know I'm NOT a Monster Jam fan, but its interesting to read everyones point on the subject of Monster Trucks.
