Monster axial scrap build

Here is a small video when the wheel came loose:tong. My dog doesn't care the least bit about my toys:laugh.

I use a 2200 20C 3S here and the fast pass is less than half throttle.
And a picture of the only damage from the first tumble.

Both the knuckle and C hub are broken. Now I have to fix the transmission:ack.

Update

So I had this crash a couple of months ago after I posted the last video and destroyed the rear axle. In short I broke the rear right C-hub, knuckle and a part of the axle housing.

Here is the axle. The upper part of the case broke off along with lockout ball stud.

Soooo I went with a few upgrades.
A new motor, Keda 36-60-3500, compared to the previous I was using.

New outdrives for the transmission for added beefyness and to use revo shafts front and rear. Here compared to the steel ones I was using before.

Transmission completed with motor and male shafts.

The front axle with new black aluminum goodies.

The rear is the same but locked with a steering link and a tierod connecting the knuckle to the servo plate.

And of course where would it go withou new shoes:willy.:wnk.
Ofna pirate wheels and RC4WD tires.
Also a big thanks to Tom (TXT 2.0) for selling me the 17mm adapters for the rims.:tmb:tmb.

A quick wipe on the body and here it is now!

Let me know what you guys think

That thing look wicked! I like the Pirate wheels... are they Clod tires that fit it? Where did you get the out drives for the Revo Shafts?

The pirate wheels are almost identical to clod wheels. I measured they are 6mm larger in diameter where the bead mounts. This helped a lot with holding the tire in place even without glue.

The outdrives are made from Eddie of crawler innovations. Here is his thread on RCC:

You can put maxx or revo shafts on an axial tranny and they also clear bigger spurs like 90T or 96T.

Looks even better than before :tmb
Were you surprised at the size of the B&H tires? They are much bigger than the rumbles.

Strange how a "axial scrap" build turns into a "oops I'm spending money on it now" build :willy

Good looking truck, must be loads of fun now with the longer brushless motor :tmb

Yeah tell me about it... but it has also become my favorite truck. I guess building something from scraps awoke the builder inside me:laugh.

Hey will this why I went for the B&Hs size size size! Heck these tires have loads of traction compared to the MF tires I was previously using.
Traction rolls anyone:willy

Well with the torque of the longer can motor you'll have no issues turning the tires, big or small. :laugh I have one of those motors, it's a beast even on 2s.

Besides, calling this a scraps build even in the beginning doesn't do it justice. It is and has been always better than that. :tmb

looks great Spiros :tmb much better with the Pirate wheels on there

yeah i had those tires on one of my trucks and loved them :tmb

that motor setup should rip very nicely :burn

Well I have only run it on 3S so far and it rips. This motor is supposedly only 200kv more than the previous one but it really feels much faster.
Only thing is I need to get rid of the slipper because it screams almost until top speed and I have it fully cranked:bang:laugh.
The added traction doesn't help :) but I love those tires.
Time to get steel gears and remove the slipper all together.
Thanks for the nice words guys, you really awoke my MT addiction again!
Converted MF coming soon:tmb

Well.....

I run it on 4S and it was furious:willy!
Didn't get a chance to finish the pack.
Went quickly back home and ordered these:

Anyone guess why:laugh:laugh

How on earth did you guess that???:laugh:laugh:laugh

There must be at least one tooth still intact in the whole transmission!

Thanks, I have to admit you have a point.
I put the gears in and after the first run on 3S I went back in and ordered me this

For some strange reason I keep ordering new parts:laugh

oomph
so much for the term ''budget'' used on this anyplace :laugh

This truck though should be an inspiration to all the guys out there with a box of crawling parts. Start building :tmb
