Monster axial scrap build

Servo saver anyone? I got "yelled" at by a friend because I was running metal servo arms on my MT instead of a saver and have thus changed mine. :tmb
A decent servo saver costs the same as 4 MG995s:tong
Anyhow these suckers don't last long even with a saver:laugh

BTW I have to admit I love your BTAs for the AX10:tmb

I've been logging in every so often. Actually I was too lazy to shoot a video!
I have grown so fond of this truck that I am planning big for it.
I have a 100A ESC and a 4000Kv motor coming in. Also an ERG-WX 14kg servo with a saver (at last:tong), some more metal for the axles and maybe 4S.
Time will tell!

I will shoot a second vid with this setup on 3S tomorrow. I promise:tmb

On 3S as promised:

Not really scorching the tarmac but it has decent speed.

A bit of an update:).
I am slowly becoming obsessed with this truck.
What started as scrap build is now slowly absorbing some of my better junk!
First I got a REVO shaft that I had from my twin force super, drilled the yokes and inserted 5mm aluminum collars to fit the outputs. I also swapped to 32p gears with a traxxas 54T spur and a castle 16T pinion.

Since it was a matter of time until I broke the transmission outputs, I got me a set of 3racing steel ones. I also got two sets of beef toobs for the inner axles from a vendor in RCCrawler.

I also opted for some better electronics like a sanwa ERG-VX 14kg servo and a spektrum 3100 rx to use with my DX3R.

Finally it was time for decent power. But I am cheap so I went with Hobbyking stuff. I got an HK 100A car ESC (overkill but what the heck) and a turnigy 36-30 4000kv motor for starters.

Of course I burned that motor and went with another turnigy 36-50 3300kv.
On top is the new motor and bottom is the first one that did not live long:tong.

So far it is holding up great at some serious bashing. The toobs vanquished the slop in the axles and the rear driveshaft is as strong as an ox.
I got a top speed of 58mph on 4S without the motor getting hot.
Video coming soon.

58 MPH !!! you have seriously lost track of reality now :rof

Now we shall all bow :worthy to your obsession :tong
Man, your going to tear things up if you crash at that kind of speed. The video is going to look like we're watching on fast-forward :shk

Now that you talked about it I will crash it to dust:tong:tong:laugh:laugh!
Actually it has become a bit difficult to handle on 4S but it is perfectly fun on 3S and about ~40mph top speed.
Also it needs quite some space to reach top speed on any cell count.
Sadly it has been raining the past few days around here so I'll have to postpone the video.

Just because we talked about it, I broke it:laugh:willy!
Went to shoot a video on 4S and I lost control on the first run.
After some 40 yards of tubling it ended up in a ditch with the rear right tire.
After the dreaded snap it could no longer go straight:tong:laugh.
I broke both the knuckle and C hub on the right of the rear axle!
Hooray!
Thank God I had spares.

Hey Joe, I clocked the 58mph on 4S with a bushnell handhelp speed gun.. I have no idea what is the total reduction of the TXT but at this moment my rig has a total of 24.8:1 gearing. I plan on getting the overdrive R&Ps at some point.
Also it takes a straight of almost 70 meters to reach top speed on pavement.

William, that tuble did seem to last forever:tong:), actually it was pretty funny looking. It reminded me of a tuble I took with my madforce the first day I installed the sirio S30. Hilarious!

You are :spaz just crazy :laugh with 4s. 3s maybe, but 4 it's a real wonder you have any truck left. I keep coming back for video of it. I think if you crash it full throttle I'll look out over the Atantic and see the mushroom cloud here in the states. :tong

I tried to shoot a small vid on 3S today in my yard and the left front wheel came loose:laugh. I have a short 1 minute run on cam though.

Next I went to the park for a better video but I think I grinded all of the transmissions' gears:-(. I'll have to open it up tomorrow to check.
This truck gives me reaon to cannibalize my Paypal;)
