Here's some more info on the Trials portion of the event......

R.C. Alley Raceway
Trials Competition Rules:
Entry Information:
The entry fee for the trials event is $5 per truck, per class. If you want to run 3 trucks all in the same class, the fee would be $15.
You may enter as many trucks as you wish.
Competition description:

Extreme class has slightly different lines and/or obstacles than all other classes.
You start the course with 100 points. You get points deducted from this for each infraction or error incurred during your run.

The deductions break down as follows:
Missing an obstacle, falling off an obstacle or touching your truck for any reason is a 5 point deduction.
Reversing is a 2 point deduction, assessed more than once only after forward motion (you can back up, stop, then back up again and it's only a single 2 point deduction. If you back up, stop, go forward a little, then back up again, that would be TWO 2 point deductions).

Knocking off the golf ball is a 3 point deduction.
Cones/course markers/pegs are worth 1 point per item. Keep in mind that most you want to miss, but some you are supposed to knock over.
There may be "bonus" lines or obstacles that can add points to your score.
After everyone has run, the person with the most points wins.
The runs are timed as well.
In the event of a point tie for first, the faster time will win.
The course will be explained and all bonus lines and penalties will be explained during a driver's meeting held just prior to the event.

Breakdown policy:
If your rig breaks on the course, you automatically incur a 5 point penalty.
If you can fix without tools in under 2 minutes, you may do so and continue your run. The clock will not stop.
If you need tools and/or more time to fix your rig, the clock is stopped, your progress is marked and once your rig is fixed, you will be allowed to continue your run from the position and time you broke. You will have to wait for the judge to call you to continue your run.
If you can't fix at all and are totally broken and done, you will receive a 5 point penalty for every remaining obstacle that you were unable to complete.

The decision of the judges is final.

Wow, that took some time to put together:willy Sorry it took so long to post the info on this event.

So......we're under two months away from this event.......the 9th running of it:tmb I hope to see many old friends and hope to make some new ones as well. As is always the case, we definitely want to see some new people come out and have some awesome rc fun with us. The racing is top notch and the Trials courses just keep getting better and better.......or nastier if you want to look at that way:spaz

So, clear the calender for that weekend and stop out and race and crawl with us, you'll have an awesome time, we guarantee it!:drool

Please post here if you have questions and check back for updates. Please read the info above carefully. All you need to know is up there.

If you just want to talk about your trucks or whatever, that's all cool too:burn

One big change to be aware of is the renaming of two popular classes. We changed Stock and Mod E-Maxx to Stock and Modified Independent Suspension to better reflect what can race in that class. There are now several trucks out that fit the new class description so it only seemed the natural thing to do and change the class names.

Start planning and wrenching now! Before you know it, MJ9 WILL BE HERE:D

That's great, Nick! It will be great to see you again!

Also one other small change is that we added a Novice class for trials. Last event I saw a need for it and a few people even asked me about it, so I decided to create it. This would be the best option for first timers and kids that want to try it out. Should be a good addition for sure.:burn

Hey Nick, that's awesome to hear you'll be there again! That means we have track security again for the weekend:D

One thing I want to add is about Concourse: Concourse entry is free with entry in any other competition(racing, drags, trials) and the truck displayed must be run to be eligible. No shelf queens, it must actually compete in at least one event, WITH the body used for concourse. The racers will all vote for their favorite truck and the truck with the most votes wins!

Also some further info about the drags: 2 classes, 2wd and 4wd. Double elimination, which means you have to lose twice before you're knocked out of the competition.

Any questions?:)

I am looking forward to it. Also, I sent you a text message Neil but I guess your working. Just a couple questions for you. Thanks, Nick.

You do not need to compete on Saturday to compete on Sunday...

Scott is 100% correct. You can show up for Sunday only if you wish to only compete in the crawling competition.

I'd like to make one thing very clear to all who have never been to one of our events and may be considering attending it. This is a very laid-back event. We compete hard whether it be racing or crawling but the atmosphere is very friendly. We are there to have fun:tmb So don't feel like you have to be some expert in racing or crawling to enter any part of the weekends events.

If you break down and have no spare parts, you'll have more than a few people offering you parts to get you back rolling again. We help each other every chance we can. I can guarantee you'll show up and maybe know nobody and go home with many new friends and some awesome memories.

We get a few people at almost every event who come to just watch and end up wishing they would have brought their "stuff". Don't follow that path! If you have trucks to run......BRING 'EM!!!! And bring a camera too:D You'll never find a cooler collection of trucks (racing or crawling) so picture oppurtunities will be extensive:shk:bling

"Run whatcha brung!"

This event is where I got started racing 5 years ago and most of the guys that came before me and helped me then are still there today. I believe I myself have become one of those guys.

I too actually, had showed up a time or two to just watch or help out wishing I had brought my "stuff".

It's a great event and there should be a few new "secret squirrels" in attendance too.

See you all there.:tmb I'm looking forward to seeing ALMOST everybody...

Apparently, the locations I posted in the main topic are all booked full. You can try calling back periodically for room availability. Digger was able to find some more locations that at the time had openings. Please check these out ASAP if you still need a room for the weekend and make your reservation. Latrobe is the closest to the track followed by Greensburg and then New Stanton. I'm not sure how far Donegal is from the track.
