Michigan Monster of RC January Edition

This year I have committed to spend less money in buying new projects and spending more time (and money) in going to racing and meeting people face to face. I really enjoyed ihobby and Clodapalooza, so this has inspired me to look for opportunities and the Michigan gang host a great monthly event.

Last month I was able to bring two local friends and they were bit by the Monster Truck bug bad. Chad (fatboy) committed to the long road trip and joined me again this month- bringing three trucks of his own. Chad is super creative and motivated to be different-- he brought 2 ground pounders and his wraith pounder. The show stopper was his cheap ebay pounder and performed really well! Chad is a great driver and once his equipment is dialed in- WATCH OUT!

Today was also the first time for me to represent two great companies-- CowRC and RC4WD. I am real excited about these two partnerships and today reinforced for me how awesome these two opportunities are! Both companies are a great asset to the RC community and a great support for Monster Truck racing. Both were used in my setups... CowRC products are a staple in my fleet and pit area and I recently outfitted my "Superman" mod clod with RC4WD rumble tires. Many guys already runs these tires and do really well. Today they performed very well for me. My Superman has seemingly had kryptonite or something strapped to it. With this truck, over the past months, if it wasn't one thing then another. But today is was stable able and ran consistent. I need to make some tweaks and shave, but I have already placed an order for another set. I think my NightWing will probably get the new shoes.

Once again a great turn out, great group of well rounded (some more than others) guys and awesome display of Monster Coolness. I know, a lot of you are jealous, but make plans and join us sometime. Look at how many trucks were here!

Looks like a lot of fun doesn't it? Well it was!

I think the keys to a great racing day is a couple things: good group of guys (guys you want to hang with), decent location, and organized racing! Here are some more pics of the people and fun today...

Serious... if you are on the bubble, you need to come out and race-- even if you don't have a truck, just come out and see for yourself. Thanks again Joe and the whole Michigan Monsters Racing Crew!

OH I ALMOST FORGOT, it's all about the driving pose!

This month, it was at Hillsdale RC in Hillsdale MI. Awesome facility!! They have 2 tracks in one facility. They have a stadium track setup, and an oval. We were setup on the oval side, that's why there is green in the middle of the track. :cool

Thanks again to Joe, John, Michigan Monsters, and Hillsdale RC for a awesome event.

Looks like an awesome time!! There's nothing like this at all in New Jersey.. Well except when my buddy and I mock up something in the backyard..

Looks like some bad news fellas - it appears that the building that Hillsdale RC has been using has been sold. Shawn that runs Hillsdale said they will continue to run there as long as they are allowed to. It's really up in the air right now since that means they could run for who knows how long or they could have been done last week. The latest will be posted on Hillsdale's Facebook page. Shawn said he is currently looking at facilities to build a dirt track in so that may or may not bode well for the MT's.

This really sucks all the way around...

Man, oh man! It looks like a good time. TX really needs something like this. Maybe once my busy schedule settles a bit I will try to initiate something
