Well every time I do an initial layout on one of these things I remember why I wait so long to do the next one..... they can be a real challenge to get everything to measure out where it not only looks good but is solid in functionality. That soda this one is taking a while. Made some progress but am at a stopping point. Time for a sanity pause!
Also I am going to have to order some more hardware. I have bins and bins of every kind of 3mm stuff you could want except for TITANUIUM! This truck is getting TI hardware on all the critical / working link points, for instance.....
Truck lays out at 12.25" in wheelbase and I am happy with that. Have some minor challenges to overcome on the stance due to the custom Wraith based axles and Clod wheels. It will probably end up about an 1/8" wider in stance than what you currently see.
Really happy with how the new shock package looks scale wise but they are going to take some work to get them dampened out and performing the way I want. Droop will end up just as you see here in the end hopefully....
I am going to order the rest of the TI stuff I need to finish getting the links permanently in place. Also need to figure out the wheel mounting like I mentioned. Then I will start working on some of the details that will hide stuff. I have one last NIB Parma Hemi that I think I will break open and assemble for this one. I have a bag of spare hemi parts from previous builds so this motor will get Frankensteined in an attempt to make a Hemi block look more like the Merlin motor in the actual truck. I have some other ideas for the motor and this build in general so for those interested........ stay tuned!
