kind of reminds me of 'waterworld' but the opposite...:conf
The trailer opens with a dark screen and a voiceover intoning ?my world is fire and blood,? followed by a succession of news reports outlining some of the basic problems facing the world itself: water wars, and combat over gasoline. So: pretty much the same state things were in during the past Mad Max films.
pig poop is the wave of the future!!
Not me-thane this time, but METHANOL....

The first real image we see is of a long desert road, an oil derrick visible on the right and, maybe off in the distance, an actual oil refinery.

The ?we are killing for gasoline? news report is heard over footage of these guys, who appear to be the prime antagonistic force in the film.
Methanol may also be made from hydrocarbon or renewable resources, in particular natural gas and biomass respectively. Methanol is also less expensive to produce

... a shot of the chief villain,
Immortan Joe

?everybody?s gone out of their mind?

Methanol vapors are poisonous in high concentrations and can cause blindness which can be fatal if the condition is untreated. That is why you would need a respirator.

What monster truck did that used to be? Anyone?
I have no idea. The front shock hoops, tire combo, & front and rear axles are the only real identifiers. There was a shop that built most of the cars and trucks for the movie but info is scarce.

The V8 Interceptor is back. It?s interesting that there?s only one fuel tank in the back of the XB Falcon GT coupe, though ? this would seem to suggest that Fury Road is set in between the original Mad Max (where the car has all its original body panels) and The Road Warrior (where it has two).

No paint on the MT because obviously it would have melted after one take...
