Depends on what you want to do with the truck. If you're bashing its good to have the rear steer available. But if you want to eliminate the use of an extra servo and added stress on the rear knuckles than yea its a good idea to go straight axle. Just depends on how you drive the truck and what you do with it really. Do you have rear steer setup on it?

If you mean locking the differentials....

Locking both diffs gives the ultimate traction but you wear and break parts faster and turning radius suffers greatly. Very high driveline loads.

Locking just the rear diff gives better traction than stock, but with a working front diff steering only suffers a little. Parts breakage isn't as bad as both diffs.

Both diffs open or stock gives the best steering, but wheelspin is bad and your offroad traction is lame. Parts breakage is minimum because a wheel will spin and not load the driveline.

it handles great for me.
ive only done a few runs and theyre just bashing aroung and over stuff in the yard.
also, speed wise its nothing like your setup; ive got wk axles, pede trans, 12t titan and 6 cell NiMh.
good enough for what im doing, but not a racer at all.
