So I picked up a 1/16 slash carcass! Got a great deal on it... only missing the driveshafts and tires. Soo.... looking at it and I start thinking summit. I have been watching these great videos from swedishrc...

I absolutely love the way that summit looks, handles and takes a beating. This guy DRIVES that snot out of that thing. So I went for it! Took the opportunity and built my own starting from the Slash.

Picked up everything I needed online... most everything from "Jenny's RC sport" ebay store. She usually has low prices and if you do the auctions can pick up everything just a little cheaper than what I consider good fair prices already. This also gave me the flexibly to mix and match, so I went with the blue lid and red rims.

Tearing down the truck was easy to do... didn't take much time at all. The only thing I didn't like about the traxxas setup is the little hinge pins... instead of using full pins all the way around some of them are split into 4 smaller pins- easy to lose. But I love my magnetic flat mat from COWRC, saved me more than one time when the pins fell out.

Recently I have been enjoying the flexibility of working after my kids fall asleep and my wife and I are just chilling watching TV. I use a TV tray and the flat mat from my tool box and it has given me a good time to tinker. Time is more and more tied up- so being able to do this here and there a couple evenings a week has brought the joy of this hobby back to me. I was just not getting time in because I just didn't feel like heading out to the garage and being away from the family.

Finished up the job in one evening and ready to hit the track... the other night I took out my newly acquired 1/16 erevo and was beating the SCT guys during the bash session. These little brothers hooked up with some proline calibers or jconcepts suberbs WHATCH OUT!

Before I take it out... I will hit the suspension and screw heads with some moo-slick- that way everything mooooves freely but will also easily help cleaning up the truck. One thing you can't deny about traxxas, being able to simply wash you truck off in the sink after some bashing- :emot112: . I found that the moo-slick helps prevent the trucks from becoming notoriously "rusty's."

That was an awesome video! A buddy of mine has the little summit and all he does is break the thing...you have any probs with constant breakage? I thought about getting one but am kinda leery cause of how much downtime he has with it.
