Hamster Power Racing RC
Just thought about this, would be kinda cool to get a list together of the "Legends of RCMT". Guys who have had a huge impact on RCMT over the years. Heres a few I thought of

Matt Verrochi
William Gamer
Mike Eckenrode
Jay Jordan
PhilG
Locoboy
Thorbob

Just a few, lets see what names you can add to the list! Thanks, Nick

Nostalgia is great, but someone on here once wrote:

"Nostalgia is a hobby unto itself, it's more expensive than it's worth and never as good and one thought it would be." I wish I could remember who wrote that so I could attribute it correctly.

That said, lots of names in this thread from back in the day, but where are they now? Not here! Let's talk current legends, people contributing now and making a difference:

WilliamG - dude sacrificed a lot to keep this board alive, and even during some really lean times. His "<Blank>-Pounder" builds have spawned a whole new category of MT's and have been copied several times. The WP's were functional too, proving to be great racers as well.

HawnMT - Awesome builds, very creative, and excellent attention to detail. Awesome and inspiring stuff from Kent!

TXT-2.0 - Each of Tom's builds are better than the last. His current Digger build is very inspiring. Great attention to detail and not a gaudy excess build. Common sense stuff that is coming together is an awesome package.

Devastator - Ingenious stuff on Mike's Clod builds. After seeing his stuff in person I can say any pictures / build threads do not do it justice. His dual servo steering on his Clod is incredible.

Mo' - His Grave Digger build was unreal - really opened my eyes to what you could do on a scale level.

Zyck2k - Anyone who is getting into Clod aftermarket while others are bailing or complaining of "too small of a market" needs to be recognized. Kudos to Jon for having the stones to jump in the deep end and turn out some great products.

MiRatlhed - Joe is a class guy - extremely helpful and generous. Big ups for getting the RCMTC-MI series off the ground and running a great race series. He listens to his racers, considers suggestions, and isn't afraid to lend a part or a hand if you need repairs. Doesn't get much better than that!

Tad - Dude has a modification named after him...'nuff said!!!

kjr2 - Kenny always has clean builds, great build threads, and I've venture to guess his WK review sold more than a couple WK's for HPI.

cpe mt - Brett makes awesome products and is a regular on MANY forums to lend a hand and answer questions. Unlike some Clod companies that it takes an act of Congress for them to reply to an email or answer their phone, I don't think I've ever waited more than 4 hours for a reply from Brett!

Jerry Matoon - Jerry's Frankenstein truck alone is worthy of him making the list, IMO. I'd cut off both my pinkies for that truck.

That was me. :) I was somewhat railing against the Bruiser I think. I'm glad the rig is back, but I wasn't one of those that had an overwhelming, romanticized longing for it because I had been burned before by trying to relive the past in another area. That was quite a while ago. I remember saying it, but the discussion itself is a little blurry. :p

EDIT: I forgot to add. Back then I wasn't "Ragnarok" - I was "Ragnar76." That might be easier to place.

Who was building that five figure Jugg Dreadnaut truck, with the big Hackers and twin 18 cell batteries? I wonder if that one was ever finished.

JKracing thanks for the mention! I recognize all those names of the past legends! It feels good to be mentioned along with all those classic members as well as the 'living' legends who are still active :D

I definitely don't belong on anyone's Legend list, but I thank you for the thought John. Most of what people give me credit for was knowledge I first acquired from other people. When I built the Fall Guy truck and Rubicon scalers most of that came from RCC and Scale4x4. It was Devastator and Tad that first showed me how to make TXTs better. And it was Mo's GraveDigger that made me always want to put at least a little bit of scale appearance in all my trucks, even the racers.

But there are a few active people that I think should be added to the list:

TurnMeOver: Wade doesn't build a lot of trucks but when he does dang if he doesn't do it perfectly! Both his Bigfoot and GraveDigger builds are the "Gold Standard" of the current board.

Ball Racing: Most of us can remember that shot of his Bigfoot because when we saw it we thought it was the real truck. Ball was doing hyper accurate scale monsters before any of us knew it was possible. And to top it of he races them, not in some slow scale class, but all out like any other pure bred racer.

Hippie: "Hippie's House" races were/are some of my most favorite videos to watch. And I still hope to someday make it out to one one of these days. And it was his collaboration with Ball Racing that eventually bought us the Rumble.

JKRacing: Now I'm not putting John on the list because he named me. John's WheelyKing builds were always full of well thought technical points and innovation. But where John really makes his mark is when there is a deep discussion. When things are getting overly emotional or confusing or whatever it's usually John who brings it back together with a well worded post. You can take this thread as an example, everyone was thinking of the distant past but one post from John and a whole new viewpoint opens up. When we were having the discussion about the 2.2 class in the NRCTPA section last year it was John's post that offered insights that may of us didn't even see. BTW I put Mo in this category too, but since he was already mentioned............

And last but not least is my fellow Hawaii guys. I know this is about legends on this board and most of the Hawaii guys don't post that often, but a lot of them have made marks on here. Wally's(hywntrucker808) absolutely beautiful and amazingly durable tube chassis racers always turn heads, as does Blake's(teambgracing) paint jobs. Or Steve's(kong808) ingenious trucks from his skinny Kong to his current GP Brutus, or Jay's(nosyajg) thinking outside the box use of a Axial Wraith as a racer and his awesome driving skills. And JoeWorks providing the machining capability to fab up some of our ideas. I could keep going on and on. There's a huge amount of talent here that I don't think most people recognize probably because there's more of an emphasis on having fun rather than the technicalities of racing in our series, but believe me there's a lot of talent here.

Totally agree! Although my list would also have

JKRacing37 - very helpful with the builds I have done and am working on with his personal advice.

I joined RCMT about 3 years ago and my "legends" are the guys on this list - so knowledgable and helpful. Long live the legends! Thank you all - I would have never gotten a WK without the review video or a Clods which have been my favorite RC trucks since I got into the hobby.
