Last Years Turkey Raffle Truck

Hey everyone,

Does anyone remember last years Turkey Raffle truck? The terminator one. I've had it running the last year with a speed passion 1000kv brushless system. It's one of the cheapo ones where the motor uses a smaller 380 rotor. It's got torque but it cogs a lot and it's really slow (like 2-3mph tops on 2.2's)

I just bought a 17.5t (2400kv) EZRun motor. It's a true 540 rotor in it as well. I'm hoping this on 6 cells will make it a bit more fun for doing hill climbs in the dry durt and be able to throw some dirt. Crawling is fun but not as much fun as spraying some dirt powering up some hills with solid axel trucks and locked diffs.

Has anyone had experience of these motors before? What can i expect compared to a silver can 27t tamiya motor? Silly compaison i know but EZrun motors aren't as exppenive as the likes of a Novak or Telkin system

Yeah sorry for not sharing my storys or input recently. There was a few changes at my work, few things going on back home ect so i took a few months away from the hobby to concentrate on the less fun things in life (house, car, job ect)

The truck still looks the same as the picture there apart from she's wearing some 2.2 flat irons now. I've got a runner shell as well from an SCX10 that just needs painted.

I managed to break it in the summer and it's just been sitting awaiting repairs since. I broke the antenna from my reciever..silly me got it tangled around the axel when i was crawling and as the wheels turned it pulled it out. Only i could break a crawler doing 2mph on flat grass.

After running it all summer with the un-sensored, 380sized piece of junk motor i felt this 17.5t (2400kv) would be a bit more fun. Hopefully it's not overkill for the Axial's transmission parts. $50 delivered to the Uk new for the motor which was fair.

I've got a nice set of masher 2000's on my Wild Dagger which i might fit to the Axial now and then for some hill climb videos. The flat irons don't work too well in the dirt
